Thank you for this beautiful spoken word/teaching/message piece of life and the blessing and reminder of how dear our parents and life is to us.

I don't want to offend people but it's true, many Hmong brothers has forgotten their duties to take care of their parents because they try to run off as quickly as possible.  Why do we only learn when it's too late?  We've read and heard of all stories of regret of not being there yet we can't embed that into our heads.  As a CNA and nursing student, believe me when I say don't put your parents in the nursing home.  All they can really give is essential care,  very little to none genuine love.  No one can love and care about your parents like you do.

My eyes were bawling when she mentions how she's only a woman and she can't do much for the mom. Hits me right in the heart because I'm a girl too.

In this new century, women too can care for their parents in old age.

The storyline is good and truly amazing. As daughters, those are the three stages in lives. Daughter >> Daughter in Law >> Mother. My only thing is that I truly cannot stand daughter-in-laws like that. You should never make your husband choose between you or his mother. Its sad because it has been done and will continue to be done. Great job!!

As a hmong daughter/daughter inlaw/mother with brothers of my own, I thought this was really touching. It really hit home.

My family was blessed to have two loving nyabs, I can only hope my future nyabs will love my parents the way I loved them or better. If not, I hope my brothers will be strong enough to know that a wife can be replaced, but you only get one mom.

I would never put my parents or grand parents in a retirement home. Fuck that!

Thank you for the video. It was such a touching story and message to all youths out there. And sadly I am experiencing this. I'm just glad that in still not yet married, give me more chance to help my parents and grandparents, especially my mom with bad health condition as much as I can. I cannot rely or trust my brothers at all. As some of you may have known, in the Hmong culture, the youngest son was suppose to be the one responsible of taking care of the elders when they get older and retire from work. But unfortunately my youngest brother doesn't want that. Him and my Nyab wants to move out and live on their own. It's just sad that, I have not seen him done enough to repay all the my parent has done to raise us up. My mom's happiness is everything to me. To see her cry breaks my heart even more. There was an old saying from the elders that, " yus ua yus Niam poob lub kua muag rau yus, ces yus yuav tau ev yus Niam lub kua muag nra ntawm yus lub nrob qaum mus tag ib sim. "

I'm not hmong, but this pulls at my heart stings. I'm getting married into a hmong family, I would never treat my mother in law like that. What a powerful message, take care of your parents when they're older. They're not going to be here for long.
