Πίνδος, Δολιανά, Ιερά Μονή Τιμίου Σταυρού

Ο Ιερός Ναός Τιμίου Σταυρού, μοναδικός με 13 τρούλους, βρίσκεται στην καρδιά της Νότιας Πίνδου, μεταξύ Δολιανών και Κρανιάς, στην ευρύτερη περιοχή του Ασπροποτάμου Τρικάλων.
Δεν είναι ορατός από τον κεντρικό δρόμο γιατί πραγματικά τον κρύβει ένα δάσος με πανύψηλα έλατα.
Είναι χτισμένος σε ρυθμό Βασιλικής μετά τρούλων, σε μία ράχη σε υψόμετρο 1150 μέτρα, με πέτρα και καλύπτεται από πλάκες.
Το εσωτερικό του ναού είναι ανεπίχριστο και συνεπώς χωρίς αγιογραφίες, αναδεικνύοντας έτσι την λίθινη φυσιογνωμία του. Είναι επίσης σκοτεινός και το λιγοστό φως μπαίνει από τα μικρά παραθυράκια των τρούλων.
Κτήτορας του ναού, σύμφωνα με λιθανάγλυφη σχετική επιγραφή είναι ο Γιανούσιος Γκουγκουτζής από το χωριό Βρντίστα (σημερινός Αμάραντος) Απροποτάμου.
Πρέπει να χτίστηκε τον 17ο αιώνα, αλλά επειδή δεν υπάρχουν πηγές πληροφοριών, είναι άγνωστη η ακριβής χρονολογία.
Ο ναός έχει χαρακτηριστεί διατηρητέο μνημείο από το Υπ. Πολιτισμού.

The Holy Temple of the Holy Cross, unique with 13 domes, is located in the heart of South Pindos, between Doliana and Krania, in the wider area of ​​Aspropotamos, Trikala.
It is not visible from the main road because it is really hidden by a forest with tall fir trees.
It is built on a ridge at an altitude of 1150 meters, with stone and covered with slabs and is of Vasiliki style after domes.
The interior of the temple is unused and therefore without hagiographies, thus highlighting its stone physiognomy. It is also dark and little light enters through the small windows of the domes.
The owner of the church, according to a stone-carved relevant inscription, is Giannousios Gougoutzis from the village of Vrdista (today's Amarantos) of Apropotamos.
It must have been lost in the 17th century, but because there is no source of information, the exact date is unknown.
The church has been designated a monument by the Ministry of Culture.
