Taylor has announced the first non-Grand Pacific body addition to the American Dream line, and we already dig it! These all solid wood, American made guitars are understated, but boast a beautiful tone. This Grand Concert, mahogany top guitar has great potential for both live and studio performances-- take a listen and let us know what you think!

I had the good pleasure of visiting San Antonio this weekend and stopped by the store. I played that very guitar, and I have to say that I was rather taken with it. Great guitar, great review.

You guys do such a good job on your reviews and comparisons. You all deserve a raise!

I think the V Class really does something for this top wood and body size. Sounds great!

Bought one the other day. Compared it with other AD guitars and 000-15. For smaller size folks like my daughter and I, it was perfect specially for fingerpicking/finger style playing given the shorter scale. Picked this over 000-15 mainly due to playability, pick-up and resonant tone. 000-15 is definitely warmer and more open but AD22e sounds “unique” (like its plugged-in all the time) with a boomy sparkle especially with mellow melodies.

I wish Cooper play all the Demo . I can really know how it’s sound . ❤

The very first thing I would do is take that pickguard off, and I do the same with Mahogany GS-Mini's. They look much better without the pickguard and may even help resonance? These AD22's are nice guitars, sound and look great.

I enjoy the channel and appreciate the content, guys.

That guitar right there sounds like a Les Paul’s neck pickup. Very cool!

I really like this guitar and think it sounds better than the Martin 00-15M. I wish Taylor wouldn't include a pickup system in most of their models. There are plenty of people out here who play but don't play publicly and don't need amplification. If they come out with an AD22 without the E, I'm in.

Good job guys!, I like the review. I'm torn between the GTe and the AD22e. I already have a 322e 12 fret, and I need a 14 fret guitar (because if you capo a 12 fret....you run out of real estate quickly...), but I'm not sure I need another mahogany topped guitar. I really thought my next acoustic would be a Gibson L00, and then Taylor launched the AD and GT series, and completely scrambled my brain. I guess I need to go get them all in my hands and play them back-to-back-to-back, to make my decision...

Hi, I'm not sure if somebody else coined this already. But I'd like you doing a AD22e vs 322e comparison. Just browsing specs, there's a lot in common between the both of them. But then also some differences. I hope that your in depth analysis would explain the difference in price (at the moment $600 on the Taylor website).

Love this one.. it's like a warm cup of hot chocolate on a cold day! Much nicer clarity than the 324.. was starting to lean Martin but this may have brought me back to Taylor. My objection with the 324 is that it sounded muddy to me.. and most Taylor's with a softer top wood have that Taylor sound which is too much for me.. the AD22e feels like a nice compromise between "modern" and Americana but not quite an example of either. Still debating between this and a Martin 000-17.

Guys glad I watched your presentation before I pulled the trigger on purchasing this guitar. Those Eucalyptus fret boards shrink like you can't imagine. I purchased a Taylor GT Urban Ash with a Eucalyptus fret board and could not keep up with the fret sprout. After I purchased the guitar at a local shop I went to the big box store and other local shops in the area and there was fret spout on all of the GT Urban Ash guitars. I kept it properly humidified and could never get the fret sprout to fully go away. Yes could dress the frets but when I checked out all of the other guitars in the local shops and after doing some reading on the properties of Eucalyptus I came to the conclusion that Eucalyptus wood has a high tendency to lose moisture and dry out vs other woods. Taylor is trying to be environmentally friendly by using Eucalyptus but I believe they should discontinue the use of this wood.

I'd like an acoustic non-electric version, but this was an informative, enjoyable review. Thanks guys! P.S. Neck heavy is my one stipulation against small bodied guitars. Could you please mention the balance in future reviews. Thank you.

Yo. Powerful dealer with Taylor cred and clout with Taylor leaders. PLEASE tell them to make this guitar in a Grand Auditorium -- the classic Taylor (with nods to Larrivee) body style. That's what we need in the American Dream series. The best Taylor with these specs and woods.

I have the AD12e. It's incredible for the price(I paid less than the online price). Too bad it's only available at GC. The AD Grand Pacific sounds more lush/organic, though, so I'd play all of the AD lineup, first. Also, I have seen(finishes, grain pattern) and heard some inconsistencies within the same models so, if you find a sweet one, grab it.

If I didn't already own a 322e 12-fret, this might be tempting. I love the sound!

Dang... Chis looked right into my soul when he said I didn't shop at GC.

Interesting but what is the neck profile and finish? I've tried two different American Dream guitars and didn't like the neck compared with a Taylor 414ce-R and A-12. Does Taylor state a difference in necks for the American Dream guitars?

Excellent review. Thanks! Could you please share the tabs for the second piece you demoed? It’s such a great melody.
