70 year old senior here. I live alone and spend $225 every 5 weeks. I buy in bulk when I can. I shop sales and stock up. I cook a lot and love it. I get great deals at Costco. Do most of my shopping at Meijer.

The sad thing is: Almost none of this is real, nutritious food and it is still so expensive.

I now hate the grocery store, I will say if a person is trying to lose some weight and get in shape, this is definitely the time to do it. 🤦

Everyone looks sad in the grocery store, the baskets are sparse, people are carefully picking what to buy. God help us all.

Unfortunately, everyone can't buy food in advance. This price gouging started years ago when the pandemic arrived, and the people who control the food supply are still price gouging. Disgraceful!

It's not the prices skyrocketing that people should fear. It's when the supply lines crumble, which they will, that people are going to lose their minds.

From the U.K. here…this is due to one thing…corporate monopoly greed.

They put prices up together and keep Americans screwed. These record profits are not coming from nowhere, they’re coming from people’s wallets.

The fast food industry will tank. Not because they had to raise their prices…..even more. But, that will be first discretionary item that people start cutting from their monthly expenses. Fulltime workers that buy lunch during the week….will start brown bagging it. The Friday night pizza night…..will now be a cooked meal at home. Fast food restaurants will start falling like dominoes.

The problem we have is because Most people always taught that" you only need a good job to become rich". These billionaires are operating on a whole other playbook that many don't even know exists.

In my family of 4 to help combat the grocery prices I have planted a garden and also get fruits and veggies from my dads large garden. My daughter has chickens and that is where our eggs and poultry come from. My dad also hunts and we freeze the meat. It’s a family effort but we want to be self sufficient for the most part.

The bee population is rapidly declining. If it it continues, food prices will only go up

I have been growing lettuce in plastic cups indoors, with just one grow light, for several years. Has saved me a fortune.

I just left the grocery store with tears in my eyes. $76 for three bags — no meat, no extras. Just basics. I’ve worked my whole life, paid taxes, did everything right… and somehow, it still feels like I’m failing. I had to do something different. That’s when I found someone who helped me turn things around — and it honestly changed everything.

If you are broke, instead of buying premade meals, cook from scratch. Bake potatoes and vegetables.

Yes I have a garden, yes I make bread, yes I shop a Aldi and ShopRite ! I eat heathly .

Tariffs will increase costs of finished goods and components used throughout US manufacturing. This will be an immediate and huge hike in inflation. To fight inflation the Fed will have to hike interest rates which will be wonderful for the billionaires but possibly take away the middle class. Inflation is so high that consumers are literally taking debt for basic life necessities. Collapse has indeed begun..

I'm a pensioner in Australia, and every pension day I send food money to 3 homeless people in America. All are elderly women, living in cars. Such a sad, cruel country.
