This trailer won not only Gamescom, but it travelled back in time and kicked E3's ass, then went further back in time and kicked Downpour's ass...then decided what the hell and kept on kicking ass until it stopped at SH4 and said "Oh...we're cool!" You guys... I think Silent Hill is, truly, back!

Being a game design student and an avid Silent Hill fan (it's partially in my name as you can see), I am torn just slightly about this. I am totally up for Kojima and Del Toro working together, as both of their artistic pasts are well above what I think anyone else could really come together and do. However, when it comes to Norman Reedus, I am a bit "iffy." He is an amazing actor and an amazing person in general, but using his face in a Silent Hill game, I think, should not be done. I understand it's just a teaser, and things could change along the way, but Silent Hill is suppose to be about going into the unknown. Having a familiar face will only connect me and others to the real world, and probably make people think of shows like The Walking Dead when they should be thinking about what the hell this town is trying to do to them. Other than that, I really cannot wait!

I have no idea what to expect. I don't think the magic of the original Silent Hills (1-3) can ever be brought back. But hell, Kojima and Del Toro...now that's a pair. Interested to see what is coming.

Trailer analysis: Hideo Kojima, you've already got me hooked. Then to see Guillermo Del Toro working along side with Kojima, super cool. But, finish it off by revealing Norman Reedus as the main protagonist, and now you've got the trifecta of pure AWESOMENESS!!! Definitely playing!

Does anyone understand copyrights when it comes to music? Clearly they used Akira's song for the Silent Hills reveal and I assume you have to have the copyright to use it. That's why Downpour used Daniel Licht because Akira didn't want to be affiliated with the project. But Silent Hills' used the main theme song from Akira, so did they just borrow it or does that mean Akira's lending his talent to this game?

Holy shit! Two of my favorites rolled into one! Norman Reedus and Silent Hill! Interesting combo. I have been playing the Silent Hill series since the beginning. I have played them all! Can't wait until it comes out.
