Best way I've found to handle spam calls: answer the phone and don't talk. If it's a robot spam call they quickly hang up since they don't hear anyone speaking. And if it's a person speaking, they try talking until they get annoyed that no one is responding. And then they hang up. Which makes me happy because they get a little annoyed.
