Rain Bird residential valves come in two different models, with or without a flow control screw. This video shows how to adjust the flow control screw on a residential valve which has this feature. The flow control screw can be used to adjust the amount of water flowing through the valve. If there is excess water flowing to sprays it can cause spray misting, which is often blown by the wind to places it is not intended, and the water is wasted. This feature can help save water.

Does this affect water pressure to the whole house?

I recently purchased these to update my old valves. Is there anyway I can bleed off the water pressure when the system shuts down or wire something inline to the solenoids will shut down slowly? The system shuts down so fast, the water pressure in the pipes instantly stops and gives off a loud bang, it sounds like something is crashed into the house. I’m afraid the pipes will break from the excessive pressure during shutdown.

My uncle's sprinkler are leaking from the flow control screw, replace diaghram seal but still leaks. Do I have to replace valve cover or what to remedy problem?
