Plant mail! | Unboxing cactus I purchased from a viewer

A viewer reached out to me that he was letting go of some of his Ariocarpus, including one oldie, and asked if I was interested in purchasing them. I couldn't say no. Some days later, the box arrived. I had to wait until I got off of work before I could open the box, so here we are unboxing plants in the dark lol. Then I'll show them all potted up - my special @Spinesnclay pot found an occupant! Btw, the large Ariocarpus had been in this viewer's care for at least 15 years - I hope I can do it justice!

Nice botanical garden you're building there. I really liked the texture of that simple dark grey pot. Your collection is an art installation, it's just too beautiful, and your enjoyment is always so sincere and palpable that my seething envy is completely disarmed 😊 Chapeau!

The Dorstenia can rot if wet at low temperatures or after root disturbance. They can handle freezing temps if dry and dormant.
Love listening to you btw, your voice is so soothing 😁

I'm over here hoping Mike from Louisiana comes in and clarifies which kinds you got 😅 They're such treasures and he must've given them great care for many years. I have an A. fissuratus that barely looks different from when I got it after like 14 years of care, though it has technically grown. Such exciting plant mail!

I grow my Dorstenia indoors as a houseplant. Watering once a month during a winter and once a week the rest of the time. It never goes completely dormant and blooms almost around the whole year.

I did Dorstenia Foetida from seeds. They grow quick and form cordex fast. Its fun. Very new experience for me. Still I love LW babies from seeds, though. They are the cutest.
Mammilalia, Astrophytum and ariocarpus etc from seeds are on going. Thanks to your growing cactus fromnseeds videos!!

Do you know if the Ariocarpus were grown from seed or collected from the wild?
