I love when you see images of videos of young Dusty, at first your like " Damn Cody looks like Dusty ", then after you look for a bit.. Dustin looks exactly like Dusty.

"You can see a black man and a white man sharing a box of popcorn. Whooo! That's funky." Young people, learn from this wise man.

The rivalry with Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes was one of the best rivalries of the 80's. On one side you got Dusty Rhodes, son of a plumber, representing the middle class blue collar workers. On the other side, you have Ric Flair, with the lear jets, limos and the women, etc. Dusty had the shuck and jive soul type promo, Ric Flair always bragged about having the "biggest house on the biggest hill" and "kissed every woman in the world and made em cry" etc. Their world title matches against each other were always great. Dusty Rhodes and Ric Flair always brought out the best in each other but in the end, it all came down to who was the better man.

Dusty was my favorite wrestler back then. So much charisma. Me and my dad would watch on TV in South Florida. Loved listening to him talk with Gordon Solie.

He was a master entertainer. Definite fan favorite. When he won the belt, we all won the belt. The American Dream daddy🫡🇺🇸

I remember this guy when I was a kid. I am late 40's now. My dad loved watching wrestling, he died a few years ago. Same year as my wife of 20 years, her favorite aunt, my favorite aunt.

There'll never be another like Dusty...and that's the way it should be.

Rest in power, sir.

He's great, but what I love more is his legacy. There's some huge figures in this business: mountains, continental sized egos, living breathing superheroes. And not one of them has a bad word to say about the Dream. Matter of fact, they all love the guy.

My all-time favorite wrestler. I saw him wrestle at the Tampa armory with Gordon Sollie doing the TV back in '74. Great memories.

I remember watching him for the first time and I was like, this guy is so awesome and it’s sad that he is gone but still to this day I wish I can meet him and just shake his hand and tell him how influential and inspiring he is because Dusty Rhodes is in my top ten believe it or not

My dad turned me onto him when I was younger, and he immediately became a favorite of mine. He was the embodiment of a working class guy. I cannot recommend his "Hard Times" speech enough because it's beyond wrestling. Rest easy big fella.

Growing up watching Gordon Solie South Florida. When Dusty came along with a list of other Texas wrestlers. The show was on. Couldn’t wait for wrestling each week. I’m 65 and still stealing his lines.
Liked thunderbolt Patterson to sidenote

At first, I didn't get why Dusty is so beloved, cuz I was born in the ruthless aggression era, after watching some of his match, some of his promos, I realized that Dusty is way ahead of his time, A people's man, a very charismatic wrestler that hooks you in in his matches whether he lose or win. He really was the embodiment of American Dream, and to see his sons, to be successful in their own way, makes me root for the Rhodes even more.

Legend til the end and beyond, and his wrestling legacy is still alive and kicking through the incredible achievements of his son, who he raised right, what a life and what a man.
