The Trailmaster MB200-2 is a smother ride with taller shocks. The CVT gives great take off but the 196cc engine is under powered.

I just purchased one and will be leaving it stock for now. I did order a 60t sprocket and 420 chain to install at a later date, as I will want better low-end torque for hills. Am taking it out to AZ next month for fun in the desert and want to see how it performs as is. Will be backing out the throttle screw, as many commenters have done. I weigh 190 and don't plan to swap out the shocks. Have considered the Stage 1 kit, but don't like how the air filter sticks out and along with the header pipe and muffler, eliminates being able to use the back foot pegs. As you stated, I'll probably remove the cover on the stock filter for increased air flow.

I just got one. I weigh 225. This bike does 35mph easy. I adjusted the throttle screw all the way it helps for sure.

You answered my #1 question I had about the MB200!!! Thank you so much for making this video!!! I have upgraded shocks in the mail right now, And a new MB200 On the way as well!!! Woot Woot for Tax Season!!! But none of the Youtube channels that cover the MB200 really discussed the chain tension issue after install!!! Thank you a bunch!!! Great education!!!

I gained almost an inch of travel on my rear shocks( mb200, stock shocks). I’m 160 pounds and I wanted a softer ride. Remove shock, unscrew bottom section ( 14mm wrench needed to hold nut within the spring). Remove one rubber snubber from each shock. Reassemble, don’t screw bottom section on as far as it was. This makes the spring not as compressed and the shock is a bit longer and softer. One more thing, I had to hold the inner shock shaft with vice grips ( held near the bottom) . Use small vice grips that fit between the spring spirals.

I put those shocks on mine and the rubber or silicone bushings deformed and wollered out in under 5 hours ride time.

Here is a problem you will have. If you tighten your chain, then when you sit on it or go over a bump and your shocks compress and the chain gets even tighter. This causes your bearings to wear or even blow out... I suggest you compress the shocks first then adjust your chain. Not too tight... uncompress the shocks and let it sit normal. Add a spring loaded chain tensioner. This will keep your bearings from blowing out or wearing(you should also regrease the stock bearings or upgrade at this point).

Yea, I loved the look of the bike but that engine.. wow, it was awful. The belt helped it get a decent top speed but it took forever to get there. I swapped mine with a Tillitson 212 and added a 60T in the back - woke this bike up. TQ down low, mid, high.. crawls up everything and is extremely quick to get up to speed. If I did it all over again, probably get a Mega Moto 212 with swing arms and Tillotson 212. Have about the same cost in both and feel the Mega moto with the front brakes would of been better.

278 pounds stock 40 mph on the pavement with mine . Takes a while but it gets up there . I'm putting on a 60 tooth rear sprocket for more low end pull .

Hey Bryan thanks for the video, I need to upgrade our shocks too. Just can't determine if these are the ones I want or the heavy duty ones. Your slow speed is the factory setting.. there is a screw on the carb side that limits throttle twist, it's in front of the lever that moves when you twist the throttle. Back it out some then tell me your not hitting 40mph or more. My nephew and I have hit 47mph with bone stock engine's on our MB200's. My issue is my torque a verter doesn't shift like it should so I'm always up in the 4k's rpm range and have to fight with it to shift down to 3500ish, I put tack/hr meter's on both bikes, it's nice to have. We are both 200lbs or so btw. Hope that helps ya bit without having to spend some $$ to go faster. Have a nice day!

I found out I weigh 187 and took a minute but I was clocked at 36 and climbing 😅 if I had a longer stretch no telling how fast I would of gone. And that was stock while holding governor bar down until past 23 switch to throttle and Im golden.

I have one just like yours and I can go over 40 mph and I weight 265 lbs, check to see if your carb limiting screw is out all the way. I have a tach on mine which is governed to 4200 rpm stock.

A stage one kit and governor removal will get you over 40 mph. These clone engines like to breathe and are extremely choked down stock.

I installed these on the same bike and didn't like them. The seat would hurt my inner legs with my feet on the ground because the bike was pushed forward. Others tried it with me and same result. I went back to stock.

Everyone puts on a 56 tooth or so for better pickup, but it still has good if not better top speed.
