I am from Paris and I feel bad you ended up in such a bad area... Paris is pretty safe in general but this part is the one to avoid. I was really surprised when I saw how much costs your studio, it is "cheap" for Paris but now I understand. I love the 18 district though, there are so many nice spots. Did you leave Paris in the end or just moved out to another apartment?

La Chapelle c'est pas génial, c'est beaucoup mieux à quelques rues de là vers le sacré coeur.
Globalement, là où il y a des logements sociaux, et aussi des zones sensibles à paris, il y a plus de pauvreté et d'insécurité

Haha，why don't you try to come to florida or texas?Paris is so expensive and dangerous, the month payment is lower than the US.You can definitely buy a mansion or big big house in DFW or Houston.

air bnb is actually aggravating the housing problems because it takes away apartments that would actually be needed by people who constantly live and work in the cities.

Paris is expensive and like any major city is has some bad parts of town. If you are on a budget better to visit another city in France. 890 euro a month for a furnished apartment/studio ... yikes. Not a good sign.
