That nostalgia. I was 9 when the X box came out. My dad was waiting for us to come home from school and showed us halo for the first time down stairs in the basement. Halo is quite literally responsible for my interests, which is in turn responsible for my career choice, which is responsible for how I met my wife, whom is responsible for my kids, who are responsible for me buying a series x that lands on the front porch tomorrow, which responsible for leading me to this video. Thanks Xbox

HEY!! READ THIS!!
The OG Xbox has an internal component nicknamed the “Time Capacitor”, which can slowly rot away even unused Xbox models! Please search a tutorial on how to remove it before your Xbox becomes a 2000s time-capsule paperweight!!

Still have my original xbox, lost the cables over the years but could never bring myself to get rid of it, was my first console bought solely for me, nearly 20 years later and I'm still an Xbox fanboy although I mainly play PC nowadays, cool blast from the past thanks Nano keep it up man

man the nostalgia is hitting so hard

I remember playing Halo CE and a family member getting motion sick from the gameplay 😂

Still think this was Microsoft's finest system. It felt so fresh at the time and being able to talk to people in game was next level shit and party up so easily. Really a revolutionary system. Also Ninja Gaiden and Halo were and are STILL just fantastic games.

What an epic item to unbox, as an xbox fan boy this is like a time capsule from a golden cultural age

Imagine if they released a Xbox classic console, pack it in with the hyperkin duke controller and I’m sold.

I highly recommend removing the clock capacitor it will basically leak electrolyte fluid on the motherboard killing the system by corroding traces used or new

Remember opening mine Christmas 2003. Used it till 2010 before my 360

Make sure your xbox isn't one of the ones with the bad clock capacitors. I think there is a wikipage out there somewhere so you look it up based on the manufacturing date or serial #. Because if it one of the bad ones then it'll leak onto the motherboard and potentially ruin your investment. You can get someone to replace it which is fairly simple

Much love Tyler, I can't believe you opened the limited edition PS4 and then this all for our viewing pleasure.

Never had the OG Xbox, i was a PS owner until Xbox 360, and then back to PS with the PS4.

Sweet video! This brings back so many memories. I've been a collector for nearly 30 years and have a sealed Halo Xbox and a sealed Crystal Xbox (Fable and Crimson Skies Canadian Bundle) in the collection. I still can't believe I haven't opened them nearly 20 years later.

Still have one of these, and it still works - we still play Madden 06 sometimes.

Please do this console a favor and open it up and REMOVE that clock capacitor. Hopefully it didn't leak already. All motherboard revisions from version 1.0 to 1.5 (Latest being 1.6 and 1.6b which no longer have this capacitor.) have that capacitor and are guaranteed to leak and cause major damage to the board by leaking corrosive fluid onto the board damaging traces etc... LOVE the vid. Cannot tell you how many times I saw that startup screen growing up. Xbox Live 1.0 and Halo 2 were the best things ever in 2004. Crimson Skies was also an amazing title to be playing online at the time.

My Xbox is 20 years old and never had the clock capacitor replaced. For a good 11 years it was played regularly, for the past 5 years I got it out again and have been playing it a pretty good bit and it still works really good and reads everything I put in it. Hopefully “knock on wood” she lasts for many more years to come cause I love my OG Xbox

The best when you uploaded your playlist for the Music and certain games allowed you to listen to your music while playing!
