Man. You wanna talk about my N.F.L. childhood—Favre with the Packers, Manning with the Colts, those classic mid-2000s Fox scoreboard and graphics, Joe Buck on the call. It doesn’t get more nostalgic than this, for me.

Thanks for posting this! :)

2 of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history going head to head like these 2 are always a treat!!

NFL at its peak in 2004 and two legends facing off against each other. Plus, 2004 was the last year of NFL 2K5, when football games were actually amazing to play. I am feeling nostalgic right now.

People really forget how other worldly good Peyton Manning was. He’s the only 5x MVP in NFL history. For perspective, no one else has more than 3. There’s never going to be another QB like him because he legitimately mastered playing QB. All the audibles and signals at the line of scrimmage, no one else does it like he did.

When Peyton Manning throws the ball, it’s poetry in motion.

When Brett Favre throws the ball, it’s backyard football with his friends.

They were supposed to meet in Super Bowl 44 when Manning was the MVP and Favre was having a career resurgence with the Vikings. However, a certain team in Louisiana had other plans.

Classic, classic, classic!!!! This game desperately needs to be aired in it's entirety either here or on NFL network. One of the top 5 regular season games ever to be played

I can't believe these guys played in the same era for another 6 years and never met each other.

This was, and probably always will be, the best game I ever watched in person!!! I remember being exhausted at halftime from going nuts during that first half!!! Manning and Favre were amazing!

This is low key one of the best channels on YouTube. They edit the games down to just the action so you can watch all the classics without having to devote 3 1/2 hours of your time to watch the full game. I wish they had more 90s Buffalo Bills games and generally older games from the 60s-80s, but that's my only gripe. Keep doing you, NFL throwback!

Unreal thanks for HD! So often it seems that even NFL Throwback doesn’t have access to HD copies of games from early in the HD era, it’s so good to finally see this one in HD

Nice! An early 2000's HD game! Love when these are posted!

For future reference, games that are in HD that I would hope get posted when games from these years are used:

Super Bowls: 1999-present
ABC: 1999, 1999 playoffs, 2003-2005
ESPN: 2003-present
NFLN: All games
NBC: 2006-present
Fox: Select games each week 2004-2007, all games 2008-present
CBS: KC-OAK 1998, NYJ-BUF x2 1998, 1998, 1999, and 2000 playoffs, select games each week 2003-2007, all games 2008-present

The thing everyone loves to romanticize about Favre was that “Gunslinger” mentality. That never made him great. His great period was 95-98 and he was playing within Mike Holmgren’s West Coast system. He controlled Favre and kept him from making to many bone headed mistakes.

Once Holmgren leaves, he starts making stupid mistakes. 6 INTs against the Rams, 02 Wild Card, 4th and 26, 04 Wild Card and can’t forget the 07 NFC Championship game.

Favre really needed someone to hold him at that high level but he only had that for 7 seasons. Imagine how great he would have been if Holmgren had stayed.

I remember watching this game, damn, Manning was a machine!!! But I just loved watching “The Gun Slinger” Brett Favre, go out there and compete, no matter the challenge.
