New Zealand accommodation is epic! For a relatively small country we’ve got some incredible options for any travel around the country — from tiny homes to glamping, luxury hotels and retreats, unique stays and beautiful hotels. As locals we’ve got over 100 vlogs exploring around New Zealand and have been fortunate to stay in a lot of incredible accommodation around the country, so we thought it was about time we answered the age old question… “what’s the best New Zealand accommodation?”

The truth is, there isn’t one! Something that’s become pretty obvious over the years is everyone has different budgets for their travels and from vlog to vlog we get feedback that x was too expensive, or x was too budget — so it’s impossible to say there is one hotel or accommodation to rule them all. In saying that, from our list it is fairly obvious that the most unique and beautiful stays clearly come with a bit of a price tag. Thanks to your beautiful videos and incredible information, I'm just back home from 3 weeks in NZ exploring Queenstown area, Hawke's Bay and Auckland with my daughter, and it's ALL because of you two gorgeous souls. If I'd never found you back (at least 3-4 years ago!), I'd never have known how to plan a NZ trip or where to stay. Queenstown is just incredible. Our first night in Lake Hayes was simply magical and as it was a clear night we saw the whole Milky Way and millions of stars. A real pinch me moment! We hired a car through Snap Rentals (via your car booking site recommendation in the Queenstown Guide) and the guys there were brilliant. Highly recommended. From a fantastic Airbnb in Queenstown, we explored Arrowtown, Glenorchy and so many other places we'd seen in your campervan trip as well as discovering our own hidden gems. Two nights in Twizel in the International Dark Sky Reserve was just epic! The perfect location to drive to Mount Cook and the glaciers, Lake Pukaki and Lake Tekapo. Simply magical - and memories made for a lifetime. In general in NZ, were also impressed with the amount of vegan/plant-based and gluten free options available, as well as tasty alcohol-free mocktails. Food shoutouts: 'Yonder' in Queenstown has the absolute best loaded pancakes - perfect after hiking the Tiki Trail! And Little Bird Cafe in Ponsonby, Auckland has THE best GF, plant-based menu ever! Oh, and TANK is a brilliant chain for plant-packed power smoothies on the go! Now all I need to do is finish Dane's Video Editing course and create something magical with my own videos! 🥰✈xx
