The Sacramento Zoological Society and the city of Elk Grove have entered into an exclusive negotiating agreement about relocating the Sacramento Zoo to Elk Grove. A joint release by the zoo’s operator and the city said Thursday that an agreement would lead to the construction of a new facility on undeveloped land in south Elk Grove. The move comes after several years of exploring possible relocation sites in Sacramento, including in the Natomas area and Bing Maloney Golf Course near the Sacramento Executive Airport.

Horrible! I’m am the last of seven generations born and raised here in Elk Grove and to see my home turned into a endless city is so sad! My family’s cemetery is now next to a jack in the box, my great grandfathers great grandfather is two feet from the drive up window. Seems like all the transplants and foreigners just want to turn my home into there’s, they forget what made this a beautiful place to live.
