1:45 that the step everybody misses and get confused, get your foot off the brake paddle while holding the button.

Thank you for being so detailed. I had to service the rear brakes on my 2019 RAV4 and looked at several videos about how to put the brakes in service mode. Seems everyone had a different method and perhaps missed some of the simple steps. Leaving the door open being one of them. Everything worked as you said it would (I forgot to reattach one of the connectors and tried to reset the system and that didn’t go well😅! Anyway, once I realized the error and corrected it, the brakes reset according to your instructions. As it happened, I paid for a dealer service a couple years ago and only had about 25Km on the odometer from that time. I suspected the brake pads were stuck which is why I wanted to check it out. I was correct - both sides were seized and I used a rubber mallet to hit them out. One of the slider pins was also dry and stuck. I replaced the brake pads, serviced the calipers, etc. working great now!

This is the video to watch. I had to do it five different times to get mine to work, so y'all stick with it, it will eventually work. Disengaged real easy.

video is better than The Car Nut bc your video visually shows each step to disengage (svc mode) & re-engage the electronic parking brakes.👍

Don't need to release the brakes before service mode. Power on, hold brake, 3 up, 3 down, make sure park warning light on dash is flashing, hold button down... Done
