I tried a Leuchtturm but didn't like the ghosting. Archer and Olive is very tempting, especially the blank sketching A5. Something to think about. Good review.

The yellow color has started to bother me. In low light it's harder to see. White paper is a big selling point, and the covers are amazing.

Last year I got a leucchtrum1917 and I’ve always been super happy with it, lately the archer and olive journals have been getting the hype, and I can honestly say after watching this video I’m still so glad I got the leucchtrum and I’ll probably never switch to archer and olive like I thought I might try next bullet journal!

great great review. Really felt impartial and very thorough. I have to say I really enjoy the "lived in" feel of the LT and I really enjoy the massive amount of pages, makes me more willing to make mistakes and try new things because I know there's so much paper. Boy I do wish the LT paper was whiter tho, sometimes I liked to color code my bullet journal and the yellow paper tends to skew things a lot

Thank you for posting this! I have been wanting to try out the Archer and Olive notebooks, but I hadn’t thought about the paper feel once it’s written on. That’s something I really enjoy is seeing how what I’ve written affects my bullet journal. So with that in mind, I think I’ll stick to my leuchtturm. Thank you again!!!

I just bought my first bullet journal ever from Archer and Olive 🥳. I want to doodle around in my spreads and for that no ghosting and no bleeding trough is a must !! The cover page makes it just so unique and luxurious looking 🥰Mine with the crescent moon is now out of Stock and I cannot wait for it to arrive in April💗
Side note: Buju Queen AmandaRachLee ✨also uses the Archer and Olive Doted Journal in 2019 so I can get inspired by hers.

I'm definitely a Leuchtturm fan. I love the creamy ivory paper (which is a joy to use fountain pens on) and all of the bright colors that they're sold in. I also love how the paper feels after it's been written on 🤗
That said, the Archer & Olive book looks fantastic; I'd like to buy it just because 😅 I don't paint or draw or do hand lettering, but I enjoy quality notebooks. Numbered pages are a must for me with a dot grid notebook, but I wouldn't mind no page numbers in a lined version.

The thick bright white paper of the A&O are not too tempting. Like you, I’ve always loved the feeling of used pages. I don’t think you’d get the same page feel from the A&O. I also find ghosting attractive because the notebook looks used! I do not water color, so I’d rather save the 10 extra bucks and go 1917. But an exceeds book from Walmart is my certified FAVORITE! Creamy 100 gsm paper, thick binding. Page numbered and an index.

my biggest issue with Archer is that the fabric cover gets dirty and the embossing actually fades. In less than 9 months, my cover design has lost a lot of its gold detailing around the leaves and the fabric is looking really beat up. Keep in mind it has been COVID year and I did not take my BJ anywhere. I bought the Leuchttrum because of the cover. I think the Archer had leather or hardcovers I will go back to it but the archer cover and how badly it disintegrates is an issue for me. I have a second black one and the dust on it is driving me insane. Cos the cover just attracts and keeps dust.

Let me correct you GSM has an adjacent relationship with thickness because it denotes the weight in grams per square meter. It does not directly tell you the thickness.
