For more than 30 years now I asked over and over again why the connectors must be where they are instead of any other configuration for easier cable management, and only just now someone decided to finally make it happen.

Finally, i've been wondering for decades why there aren't more boards with connectors on the back.
Now at least two companies are getting into it.
I mean, pick your base locations for everything, have them all be on the front or back, then it won't matter which one your board uses, you can even mix and match if for some reason that is a benefit to your motherboard layout or whatever, cases can keep it into account, and you're done, every board should fit every case (with the same size and base layout like mATX, ATX, ITX etc.of course).
Cables can also almosty sure be shorter.
Hell, i would even like plug in boards, as in you plug in your motherboard into the case, that has an internal PCB, plug in your PSU, with maybe some small cables, and a case builder might even make some spots for SATA drives etc in the case, plug in your mobo, plug in 4 SATA drives on the back, they're connected. All you need really is again basic spots for all your base needs and the rest you can play around with.
Of ccourse a standardized PSU layout would also help, but that may be a bit too much, but hey, you can probably use a lot more smaller cables with even a max length of like 10cm and you're done, less cable clutter.

Wow, the cut from the beautiful 'front' to the chaotic mess in the back at 7:30. Really hammers the "cable-less" concept.

Something to make me want to build again.

Well I did it!!
I got all the parts ordered for the AMD 7900 XT GPU and the 7800 x 3 d CPU build from this channel! Thanks for the videos!! Like I said before this channel is amazing and I definitely couldn't have done this without it.
Now building this thing...wish me luck

Its interesting to see how much aesthetics becomes a factor in pc building. 20 years ago pretty much only the case represented your pc. A raccoon could live inside and no one would have cared. Now its down to the last cable.
For me, as kind of a oldschool builder, I prefer practicality and functionality above all. But it was a big step into the "new" trends getting a Fractal torrent with a glass side, RGB RAMs and the shiny 7900xtx nitro+..Some things change slowly but when practicality and aesthetics (and price) realign Im in.

I like your little cat helpers! And *cable management* can be a nightmare, like that closet in your house where you throw everything in and shut the door really fast so everything else doesn't fall out!

Noticed your personal pc build in the background. Not sure this new "zero cable" version is any cleaner...but, hey, it's always fun watching you build.

Excited to see where this goes. Here’s to hoping that this gets more attention and the cable connections get a little more love.

In building PCs for myself I have always found the connection points to be the least thought out. Often have conflicts or just having to bend wires. Here’s to Back to the Future Part 2. 😂

Jason, first off hats off to you and Sarah again putting together another great video! Also the cat help was nice too!
I like the build very much, it looks sleek. Wish MSI would of sent you a White GPU though then it would of been perfect! My white 7900XTX Taichi would fit that build nicely!!!!
As far as the GPU connection, I think the power cable looks fine there.
With that being said, ASUS has already pulled their shenanigans on the whole GPU power to MB. You were exactly right about the compatibility issue you can ruin into if you want to upgrade or sell/trade the ASUS GPU.
Question, how did you make out with the cable management in the back? Was it much of a hassle as it seemed it could of been?
All in all, great job again and very informational.
Stay

That is the cleanest pc build I ever saw. Nice job, Jason

MB companies need to have a default setting that's a baseline to the manufacturers' recommended specs. Then if we want to chance taking things beyond spec, that's on the end user. It should NOT be the default setting to have everything turned up to 11.

Solid build. Call me old-fashioned, but I like the cables. I like the added flair of custom cables as aesthetics are usually a good portion of my budgets for my builds. I do like how clean and minimalistic this looks though. Definitely a beast of a gamer.
