How to Tie a Slate Drake

This is how I tie a Slate Drake. This pattern was created by Jim Omen From Slate Run Tackle and was designed to be fished on Pine Creek. If you ever find yourself fishing Pine Creek this is a must have fly.

if you build a larger thread dam in front of the wing post it will tend to stay upright longer. the way you have it the post will eventually fall forward over the eye of the hook rendering it junk/throw it away...
