It's interesting that in Eastern Asian recipes, "until the oil separates" is a sign that it is cooked whereas in Western cuisine, it's a sign that the sauce is broken.

This looks suuuper good though.

It usually comes with pickled mustard greens too, which adds SO MUCH to the dish. Highly recommend it

Day 3 of asking Lisa to try my simple but delicious sandwich!

Slice tomatoes and add to bowl. Then add salt, sliced onions, and lemon juice. Mix.

Add Mayo and a slice or two of ham to your bread. Then add the tomatoes and enjoy!

The tomato juice left over actually tastes really good if you pour it on potato chips. Just a preference tho.

Khao Soi actually have a dessert/snack version in northern Thailand as well it's a fluffy sweet snack. I love this snack a huge part of my childhood you should try it next time you visit Thailand Lisa!

khao suey originated from burma i guess. im from india. my grandmother is from gujarat-surat, there they, make these too, my mom made it at mom with the base, and we have a lot of toppings to add

I got to try Khao soi I chiang Mai it’s one of the best dishes I’ve ever had
