Migraine Patient Testimonials - Wide Range of Symptoms

Показать описание
Not yet well publicized in the general or medical communities, many chronic symptoms such as sinusitis, dizziness (or vertigo), ear pain, jaw pain, nasal blockage/stuffiness, facial pain/pressure, eye pain/pressure, tinnitus, abnormal or bad taste or smell, runny nose and many others may be migraine-related and therefore may be alleviated with the same treatment options as migraine headaches. Unfortunately, many patients and doctors alike are unaware of this connection.

Because a relation to migraine disease is not usually suspected, these symptoms are often not treated properly. Many people receive antibiotics, allergy and other medications and occasionally surgery. These medicines may seem to be effective temporarily because the symptoms naturally disappear (as traditional migraines do) but then return again.

Migraine disease is a condition that most commonly affects women. It may be affected by changes in estrogen levels.

A new organization, the Association of Migraine Disorders has been created to get the word out and to help fund research in this important migraine-related area of neuroscience.

Please visit our website to learn about the symptoms, causes and treatments of migraine disorders. There is a lot of helpful information on our site, and with it we hope to end the suffering of many patients who have been unaware of the possible connection of their symptoms to migraine disease. Migraines - More than a headache...

***The mission of the Associaiton of Migraine Disorders is to raise the medical and general public's awareness of this condition and to stimulate increased research in this area of neuroscience.***

MORE INORMATION:
Migraine Disorders are a spectrum of neurologic conditions which may have a common genetic and physiologic cause. Although most people associate a "migraine" with a headache, the same underlying faulty nerves that cause this head pain can also affect those nerves that line our sinuses, teeth and ears.

This hypersensitivity of the nervous system can interrupt the normal way that we see the world, maintain our balance, hear, smell and taste. This problem may be affecting other parts of the brain that control our body temperature and our mood, our ability to sleep, to think and to remember. It may be the same neuropathy that causes fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, cyclic vomiting.

Think of this problem as a malfunctioning electrical relay switch. The information from sensory nerves is being distorted, or overly amplified, on its way to the brain. That neural error may be an inherited defect which comes and goes throughout life depending on changing factors, such as hormonal shifts.

I think one of the most emotionally painful part is that your family and friends just don’t understand.
I tell my parents about how I have a migraine hangover, so studying for a test gets really difficult, but they just don’t understand.
I’ve reached the point where I think “why did I even bother telling them about my problems” or “why did I get my hopes up”
It’s quite sad, actually

It's painful, I throw up, I get an aurora (sometimes it was hard to see from one eye), I'm dizzy, nauseous, and I even get chills. I had one today, and I had to leave in the middle of class to go throw up. I can't even lie down because it makes the room spin. Tynenol doesn't help. I'm going to doctor and I just hope it's an easy fix.

It makes you so greatful for your health when you're not in pain, that's for sure. I'm lucky to not have it everyday. It's one of those things that definitely suck though.

I've been having a migraine for 10 days now. My left eye was killing me and I couldn't see well for 3 days, then the eye issue went away and my whole body became weak, my head spinning and my feet and hands tingling, now the pain on my left eye is back, I just came back from the Dr and he is sending me a cocktail for dizziness, vértigo and migraines. 35 years old, first time I've experienced this.

I want to share my story. Since the 4th grade. I’ve been to the hospital over 50 times for migraines. Most people think they’re just the bad headaches but in reality they are this ill definitely pain. You can’t pin point where they are coming from. They can be from a brain defect or a tumor or in my case anxiety. I get it bad. But I am mostly cured. I haven’t been to the hospital since like July 2019.

Woke up this AM with the beginning stages of a migraine: The low-grade throbbing that feels like small electrical shocks, which has turned n2 a low-grade headace. Let's not forget about my face, it feels like I have the look of a migraine coming to stalk me. My face feels puffy and I look pale (I'm brown) I often get the sniffles and It's hard for me to concentrate. I am taking two 500mg naproxen, Naproxen works better for me than any prescription (Relpax-The one that goes up your nose as well) Feel better migraine sufferers

My hubby is a severe migraine sufferer. During a really bad episode, it almost looks like he's having a mild seizure. He describes the pain equivalent to what a pickaxe might feel like to the side of his temple. Sometimes he gets vertigo, aura headaches where he sees spots, reoccurring cluster headaches and even becomes nonverbal. Vomiting also occurs if it's really bad and occasionally he will have a buzzing feeling in his teeth. It's truly a helpless feeling bc there isn't anything I can do for him really. He just has to ride it out. He has migraine meds including a narcotic which he only uses as a last resort. None of them seem to work all that well.😔

I am a 42 male from usa. Ive been getting headaches since mid 20s. It was at that time I became interested in weight lifting amd started to consume a lot of calories. Usually in the form of carbobydrates. Mainly wheat, i.e gluten. Fast forward to late 30s and 40s my headaches were brutal. Usually caused me to curl up and nearly cry from the pain for 24-48 hours. I would dry heave and vomit any pain pill I tried to take. Doctors told me I had a gluten sensitivity and to avoid it. I did. Headaches and cankers sores went away. Now when i feel good for a period of time and i get cocky and have gluten, corn, wheat or something else processed I will pay the price. It may not be immediate but I will get a migraine soon after. It will debilitate me from everything. I am miserable and useless to life when I one settles in. I was prescribed ubrevely and it seems to work after 3 hours but makes me feel woozy even tho i already do. These are horrible and suck up all my sick time at work

I, in a way, like their descriptions. Come to think of it, I can easily remember my now +20 years old migraine memories as a *_*38_**, (I have had only two migraines or so since after 19.)
-For me, sight typically messes up, a blotch somewhere forms usually close to or at the center of my vision. I've had growing amounts of eye-floaters at the bottom of my eyes before back then. I tended to feel like I wanted to throw up. Sunlight, sounds and people talking sometimes would hurt too. I felt annoyed by everything and everyone easily.

...to be honest, yeah- when I was teen, in class and knew my sight problems were building up- I knew it was a bigtime, red light that I was in for a fucking horrible day. Migraines were usually an eight hour, miserable trip through the day- I'd gradually just realize I'd have to: go home for the day from school. drink loads of water and I got into eating more to try to wart it off. I did take anti-migraine and/or anti-headache drugs sometimes and I also knew I could just fucking masturbate myself into making myself drowsy enough to sleep the migraine off.

Sometimes, I've thought about IF I'D ever wish a damned migraine on my worst enemies. In my latest five years of life, I'd rather try to reason with assholes over a (usually safe, lol) 90mg caffeine energy drink and/or one or two joints of pot. lol.

Had a doozy today. Threw up several times and every time I moved my head it felt like getting an ice pick to the brain. 7 hours of bliss.

I just experienced one of the worst migraines at school. Couldn’t think nor even walk properly. It ruined my whole day. I felt sick and dizzy and the worst symptom was definitely the aura: shining light on the corner of my eyes. I felt I could vomit any second, and even after the symptoms got better, I felt like I could puke any second throughout the day no matter what I did. All I wanted was to die. I’ve heard people claiming their migraines lasts months, and I’m lucky that my lasts on maximum 2 hours once a month. But it still the worst pain I ever felt in my life; wouldn’t wish it to my worst enemy.

My migraines started at 18, and every year when it gets cold or too hot I am almost sure to get migraines. For a month or two, everyday around 10 AM and recently it started at night also, wakes me up automatically and torture starts. It took me 20 years to find a right doctor who correctly diagnosed my runny nose brutal headache as migraine actually. I was prescribed preventive medicine which would fail mostly, then Headset tablet as SOS. I am 38 now and I couldn't enjoy my youth much because of my migraine as I would have to stay home for most part of the year. Too much running also gives me migraine. I inherited it from my mother who got it from her mother, who got it from her father. Even after taking Headset tablet, it takes me 45 minutes and those minutes are terrifying. When I had no such medicine, it took 4-5 hours for body to automatically vomit and get normal again. My head would be ringing for rest of the day. Other people can't understand its effect, specially folks at job.

I'm starting to think I was misdiagnosed years ago. My doctor diagnosed me with chronic cluster headaches. Mine certainly do happen in clusters but can last days on end with no relief no matter what I try. My symptoms are... ear pain and a weird feeling in my ear like a pressure or air and they pop in and out sometimes just by turning my head. Ears are constantly ringing. My jaw hurts and my teeth even hurt sometimes. The base of skull and into my neck hurt. The most recent few headaches I've had have sinus pain that is worsened when bending over. Sensitivity to light. Fatigue. The worst of the pain is always behind my eye and into my temple and forehead. Usually my left eye but it has switched sides? So odd. I don't know what is going on but it feels like my head is going to pop and my brain turn to mush.

Literally the same thing. Sometimes I can barely even form words or use my hands. Tylenol doesn’t work for me cause I just throw up any pill I try to swallow. The only thing that actually helps is to get a sleeping aid of some kind (preferably a syrup or something) and just sleep through it. Utter nightmares
