In this video I describe how the battery I use to power my CPAP up to 5 nights and also a solar panel that will charge it up for a complete off-the-grid CPAP solution.

So I have the 450P System One and I tried it on my portable battery. There are 5 bars on my portable battery and after 1 night it was still 5 bars full!
So this looks like it will work for 5 days at least. And thanks for the advise on the humidity HME. That works!.
But the key to the whole thing is using a 12V cpap. For example I also have a Airsense 10 and that is 24v so it probably draws more electricity.
PS to everyone: The 450P has been recalled by Philips. I've read online that people just removed the foam inside and that did not affect the noise.
PPS: The Dreamstation 2 is a 12v cpap but physically larger than the 450p because the humidifier is not detatcchable.

I checked your numbers and I think it is possible. I don’t doubt your word. My Resmed 10 airsense without humidifier uses 7 watts so 6 hours per night for 4 nights is quite possible. The main point here is that with the right cpap device and no humidifier you don’t need some kind of expensive huge battery to get you thru a camping adventure. A small cheap battery will do just fine.

Great explanation. Thank you! One other option for the device is a travel-sized unit like the Resmed Airmini that does not support humidification and is also an autoset machine. It makes packing easier and consumes less power overall. Good luck with your travels.

I noticed you had an Aimtom so I clicked on this video. I also bought one on amazon and it’s been great for charging and powering a lot of things. My doctor recommended me getting a cpap but I didn’t think the Aimtom could power it.. now I know it can.. Thanks for this!

Hi there... I'm writing you from Spain same as you I like to go out camping, adventure, etc., .. until now I almost couldn't find out any kind of information about any real or practical case... so thank you so much because you open my mind... of course, I know that if I buy an external power station as Jackery or Bluetti with 1000 w output I can run any CPAP but the dilemma was how to do with the exact power you need as more portable and lightweight as possible... OMG thanks 😀

FYI. I think your chapter is part of the world wide Philips cpap recall.

How about some specific information such as how many amp hours does the AIMTOM hold at a full charge and how many amps does your CPAP draw without the humidifier?
also how many watts does the solar Piano put out? These are the nuts and bolts questions that we need to know

I have a CPAP Aircurve 10 I travel to Puerto Rico every year where power outages are common and could last up to several hours. I heard of the jackery generator but I would like something more compact. I also use my humidifier.

I have a Resmed Air sense 10 too, turning off your humidifier is easy. The white button to the right of the screen just press and hold till the top part lights up( My Options) press the white button and the screen will light up with pressure and a list of options and turn the white button ( I think clockwise ) to humidifier and then turn the button to go down to off. I camp and sleep in a tent and I use a deep cycle marine battery from Walmart ($99) with a 410w inverter and turn the humidifier off and get 5 nights of 8 hrs per night, but the marine battery weighs 65lbs. If I have to charge the battery I either drive around a bit ( hooked to my battery charger) or drive into town 15 miles and plug it in at a gas station where I buy the girls lunch or dinner. I would like to give this a try but I still have some questions about how long it would take with the solar panel and how long it takes to get to 100% charge driving around with my battery charger charging it. Interesting video, thanks.

There is a way to turn off your AirSense 10 heated humidifier and heated tubing. Read the manual or play with the options on the CPAP. Unfortunately, as you stated, it requires 24 volts are you have to plug it into the AC outlet of the battery and lose power through the extra converstion.

Good machine that Remstar. Pity I had to change it because of the recent recall.

Length of use totally depends on the power consumption rate of your CPAP device. Older machines will run the battery down much quicker. If your machine uses a heater to create steam then it will run it down much faster.

The 12V AIMTOM 42000mAh 155Wh is a good CPAP power bank but it is much larger than the more portable ones. It also doesn't natively support the popular 24V AirSense CPAP without using an inverter, which cuts down on nightly battery run life.

I think with your experience, using the resmed Bipap you could get at least 2 nights out of this.
