Coronavirus: 'Too early' to say when restrictions will end 🔴 - BBC

Prime Minister Boris Johnson is in hospital, so the press conference is led by Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab - who is in line to step in if the PM cannot carry on with his job.

He is joined by the chief medical officer, Chris Whitty - who has just come out of self-isolation due to coronavirus - and the chief scientific adviser to the Ministry of Defence, Professor Dame Angela McLean.

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, again, says the prime minister is "in charge" and will take advice from his doctors.

Asked how long the current restrictions will have to continue, Prof Chris Whitty, chief medical officer for England, says a "serious discussion" about this will only be possible once the peak of the virus has been reached.

He adds it is "too early" to say what should happen until this is known.

Too early to say if it's working as some people with underlying health problems and the elderly are still not dead. We went down the wrong road only people with underlying problems or of pension age should have been isolated and then the government along with volunteers could have fed and looked after them the MSM pushed Borris and Borris lost his nerve.

These people asking the questions must be really thick. Do they even listen to what's being said? I'd like to see them come up with a better plan.

It's as if they are copying and pasting Ireland's stance on coronavirus two weeks too late
Shame horrible to see England getting hit like this.
From an Irishman I wish you all the best of luck during this situation

She said it takes several weeks from contracting the virus until you may need to go hospital? Does that mean a person could have the virus for up to 7 weeks?
