I made it!!! I’m not Guatemalan but my husband is and he loved it. My husband’s mom use to make it for us every Thanksgiving or Christmas. She sadly passed away earlier this year and it has been really hard on my family. Making this recipe and having it taste so similar to my mother in law’s really brought happiness to my family. Thank you.

Thank you!! This is actually the 4th time I watch this video just to make it lol. My wife is Guatemalan and my mother in law used to make this for her. When she tasted it she loved it and it took her back to her childhood. It is delicious! Thank you so much!

I see that you added bay leaves, but your recipe says thyme. Can you add either one ?

IM LOOKING TO MAKE THIS DISH... i love hilachas have been craving some for a while just found out its a guatemalan dish. and this makes me even more proud. however we are having a discussion with my mother about what kind of meat is used to make this dish.. i love exploring meat cuts. SO IF I CAN MAKE A SUGGESTION OR AN EDIT ON YOUR VIDEO PLEASE? at 0:39 you wrote start of with FLANK (FALDA), HOWEVER THESE ARE TWO DIFFERENT CUTS OF MEAT... Flank is Bolovique AND Skirt is Falda... both come from around the same area... just Bolovique is more tender and thicker vs Falda is more thinner and intense flavor! Which you put would give you different results. But you're confusing people by saying one thing and writing another one. so when they go buy that meat theyre gonna get something else!! Im assuming you're using FALDA which is skirt and instead you're telling them to go buy FLANK which is bolovique... so they might end up with something different. ALTHOUGH THIS DISH CAN BE MADE WITH EITHER OR... thank you
