The management of torques, especially when inserting the first rectangular wire, can be crucial to avoid significant issues for both the periodontium and subsequent orthodontic mechanics.

It makes no sense to correct the inclination of the incisors when only one torque is present. This will always lead to mechanics where the roots are moved, and the CRot is in the bracket. In continuous arch mechanics, there is no way to change this. In a Class II scenario, the correct time to adjust the incisor inclination is during retraction, when there are two moments in the system: the moment generated by the retraction force and the moment of the couple. Properly managing the relationship between these two moments allows us to select the desired center of rotation.
To assess whether the real torque is generating a couple within the slot, insert the wire into the anterior teeth and check the height at which this wire passes in the posterior region. Remember, the initial RELATIVE torque should be passive!

Não faz sentido corrigir a inclinação dos incisivos quando apenas um torque está presente. Isso sempre resultará em uma mecânica onde as raízes são movimentadas e o centro de rotação fica próximo ao braquete. Em mecânicas de arco contínuo, não há como alterar isso. Em um cenário de Classe II, o momento correto para ajustar a inclinação dos incisivos é durante a retração, quando existem dois momentos no sistema: o momento gerado pela força de retração e o momento do binário. Gerenciar adequadamente a relação entre esses dois momentos nos permite selecionar o CRot desejado.

Para avaliar se o torque real está gerando um binário dentro do slot, insira o fio nos dentes anteriores e verifique a altura em que esse fio passa na região posterior. Lembre-se, o torque relativo inicial deve ser passivo!
