I love watching the adventures of this guy learning what cats are like. My boy will scream like he's never eaten a day in his life when I walk past the fridge two minutes after I gave him food.

Just in case you don't know this I'd thought I'd share: check the ingredients of her wet food and her squeezy tube treats for carrageenan. It's a thickener made from seaweed, but it's known to cause cancer and other not good things in cats. For some awful reason it's still allowed to be used in cat food even though it's known to not be safe.

They would all sit, as patient as possible, and meow in a beautiful chorus while their food was put together.

With the stories of her getting into human food, it seems a similar situation as with my cat Minka. She was also found as a stray and my guess is that she and Layla had to deal with food insecurity, which is why they are so focused on it.
Nowadays, Minka has allures about what food I feed her and also ignores bread, so it is not unlikely that Layla one day will not be this up in your business when you prepare her food :)

Layla is so precious and sweet and gorgeous! You should slightly heat her food in the microwave if it's been in the fridge. My cat is spoiled and won't eat cold food. 🤣🤣
