Not sure which Kreg screw to use? Here's a surefire way for choosing the correct length of screws to use on your pocket-hole projects without referring to a chart.

After drilling a pocket hole, drive in the screw you intend to use. Then hold it up against the piece you will be joining to and check how deep the screw will be.

Kreg Online Screw Selector
An even easier way to determine the correct Kreg screw for your project is by referencing our online screw selector tool. Simply input a few quick details about your project including board thickness and what type of material you are using and we will recommend the best pocket-hole screw for your project.

This video overlooks that the pocket hole can be drilled to different depths = different lengths of screw projection. That's 1:12 minutes of my life that I won't bet back!

Loved your very simple to understand video so I’m now a subscriber!! One question I am about to assemble my own mobile router table where the construction is out of 2x2” (hard wood) oak. I have just purchased a Kreg K4 master set can I build using K4 Jig or do I need some other Jig? Regards Chris “ The Aussie living in the Netherlands”🇦🇺😉
PS
(and have just finished my first pocket hole project a front entrance - Family key rack with built in shelf and letter storage area

Easier way... set the depth of the jig (blue piece with holes) based on the board thickness, loosen the collar on the drill bit, slide the drill bit in a hole it reaches the bottom, and raise it an off the bottom a bit.

Following the instruction guide, I seem to get/use too long a screw almost every time and damage the work piece. I've started to just use one screw length shorter than the guide says and this works pretty well for me. BTW, I almost always use 3/4" thick wood which I guess is actually slightly thinner than 3/4". Hopefully I can try the technique displayed in this video and get better results.

The Kreg 320 has 3 presets, 1/2, 3/4, and 1 1/2. I"m working with 1" thick boards. Which setting should I use. Why not have another increment?

Can I use the kreg pocket for making a waterbed frame? What size screw for an actual 2x8 board

I plan on making the pocket holes in a 2x4 and joining it to a 4x4. Should I go for a bigger screw because of the thickness of the 4x4?

What screw do i need for 1/2 plywood, i know it should be 25mm long, but how is it with the diameter off the screw, what size is good, because it could split when the screw is to thick.?

This video implies the same pocket hole can be used for all projects and simply change the screw length. I bit misleading when the purpose of the jig is to ensure proper depth and the correct point of entry for the wood to be attached. Bad advice.

Quick tip is just provide customer with correct screw length no matter what the thicknessof wood being joined.

This "tip" only works if you have multiple screws on hand to compare. I don't want to have to go the the store and buy 5 different screw types and only use one of them. That's too much wasted money.

The pocket holes never see deep enough, the head of the screw doesn’t sink in

What kind of bullshit is this?!?  Sure-Fire way to check our Kreg Screw length: 'If the screw is too long, it will probably split the wood'. What I want to know, and I'm positive everybody else wants to know the same thing, is WHAT LENGTH SCREW FOR WHAT THICKNESS STOCK!  For example - What size/length do I need for 3/4 stock? What size/length for 1/2 stock? Is this too difficult a mensuration task to tell everybody whom you want to by your product?
