Also as a black woman who has done family research, I have found that many of the census takers were not the best spellers & often spelled names as they heard it, forcing records to possibly be changed based on incorrect spelling.

Wow, there was a very special old man in the audience of the first participant - a WWII veteran with his hat. That is amazing, there aren't many left.

I wonder if that butter dish was indeed used at Lincoln's inaugural day dinner, but at HER ancestors family's dinner on the same day he was inaugurated. Having the same name may have been a cause to celebrate the event and the WHO's dinner table it was at just got lost in translation down the over the years. Great show!

Love seeing the adoptee, whose parents (like mine) supported her finding out more about her bio heritage. When she comfortably introduced both her bio parents and the parents who raised her, it made me tear up: as my dad always said "you can never have too many people who love you".

My dad was part of the Danish resistance. Strongest man, I knew.
Glad she found the truth about her father. ❤

As someone who is biracial, it's important to learn as much as possible about your family's But it's even more important to understand our histories but not marinate in the feelings of anger at any of the not so wonderful facts 💯

The royal bookshop family story was really interesting, and so varied in experiences. I'd love to go to London and visit that bookshop!

This was an amazing program. And my dad grew up in the Detroit area right in the heart of Indian Village, so I loved that connection right there. I loved every one of the stories. Thank you for sharing this with all of us!

Hi, Stephanie, I was so glad to see you back on You Tube because I enjoy your channel a lot. First, Im so sorry for the death of Timmy. I enjoyed him and his hymns. My husband died in 2006 after almost 38 years of marriage. While he was ill, he died unexpectedly. I know it is the hardest thing Ive gone through but God is faithful. Also, I wanted to say that I have lived in Texas over 50 years but spent several of my growing up years in Benton KY. My dad worked at KY dam. Then, after I married, my parents moved back to that area, Benton and Gilbertsville and he worked at Barkley Dam for over 20 years. So, we visited often. I love the area and still have friends there. God bless you and keep you.

Thank you for this. I have an enlarged aorta with two aneurysms they'll not do surgery because they said there's a chance I wouldn't make it through. So I'm headed in that direction and these things that you said really really brought me peace and helped me. God bless😊
