For context: Aka manto is a urban Japanese myth where an velvet dressed slender looking creature with a mask asks you “Red Paper Or Blue Paper.” If you choose blue you’ll be strangled and hung upside until your head is blue, if you choose red You’ll be either Skinned, Decapitated, beaten to a bloody pulp, stabbed until your red, all of which your body is covered in blood, Aka manto was a son of a highly respected politician which was two faced and beat his son Atsushi everyday, Whenever he went to school he met some difficulties with bullying, his guidance councillor, Nakajima most of the stories mention him as a male, Tanaka the friend of Nakajima, The guidance councillor gave Atsushi a voice recorder for proof for bullying but Atsushi used it for when he dad beat him, his father eventually found the voice recorder with the evidence and he beat his son so hard it nearly killed him and the father reminded him that his mother had left him and calling him other names and such, Atsushi felt weak and then committed suicide afterwards his body was found, His arms Cut, his legs were missing, hung until he was blue, vomit was on the floor, as the police found the bodies His father the politician was ruined his public face was gone, his “friends” had left him and then Atsushi as a spirit mocked his father day after day until his father committed suicide, Almost all of the females at his school liked him but then after hearing his death they made fun of his pathetic death calling him a loser and such the bully was the most popular guy at school by then, Aka manto first appeared in a sudden athlete girl’s drowning incident where a girl was having night swims for her training and drowned as there was a indigo paper in the water, Another girl died in the showers as she was having Dirty minded thoughts as she was in the process of pleasure Aka manto slit her in half, a purple paper laid on the body, and there is many more victims all of which are female if I were to continue to right the rest there wouldn’t be enough space and plus they are way too brutal and mortifying than what I just mentioned.

when i first heard the Aka Manto chase sound i was scared having my hands on top of my head. I have never been more scared of a chase theme more than the actual monster. The chase theme is scarier than the theme in Nun massacre.

It's not just a game. It's a Japanese Urban legend. If you use a public restroom in Japan you might hear a little voice say ' Blue or red toilet paper? ' if you choose red, he will scratch your face until it resembles a red clock is you pick blue, he will strangle you until your face turns blue.

I just finished this game just now with the good ending. I agree with the sound it makes when it chases you, it is stressing. However you get used to it.

The only thing I dislike about this game is the lack of guidance, you could spend hours looking for something and not find it. I suggest you use the wiki when you get lost throughout. Still, not having a guide while playing through is nerving as you continue exploring without knowledge and you get chased in the most unexpected moments.

Overall, would rate this game 9.5/10. The missing 0.5 is that when you get used to it, it becomes repetitive. So a suggestion would be adding a 2nd "Aka Manto". They could combine both the red and black cloaked hunters to make it more challenging.

A 2nd life or a save is also another suggestion. That's simply the only reason why people take too long to reach an ending lol.
