Ayamatsu - Re:Zero Pride IF Story

In Ayamatsu (Pride Route), we follow evil Subaru as he slowly transforms into the Sin Archbishop of Pride after failing to meet Reinhard in Episode 2. Elsa kills Subaru almost 100 times, causing him to go insane and eventually join the Witch Cult. This story is NOT canon. Think of it as a realistic spinoff where Subaru just happened to make all the wrong choices.

This What-IF story contains Arc 5 web novel spoilers (only relating to the character Regulus) around halfway through the video, but I will give a warning beforehand, so anime-onlies can safely watch this video up until that point. In this video summary I tried to keep Season 2 spoilers minimal, so I neglected to mention certain details that pertain to Season 2, while still trying to keep the summary accurate and interesting.

Imagine being Reinhard, you're just a bro saving people, you may even remember when you saved Subaru from Elsa. And then this guy kills everyone, everyone you care about and you're helpless to protect them, only you survive. And then you confront the deranged monster that did this and he says he did it out of spite for your power. "Visibly shook" is probably an understatement, Reinhard would be broken after the hate subsides with Subaru's death, mentally shattered. Subaru really did win this route.
