It looks interesting, i really liked your comparison. I would try it if it were to have a plugin for LRC and PS. Too many steps if not. I'll keep my eyes open. Thank you!

Good work on this comparison. It reflects what I'm finding, for sure. It's really difficult to get an all-in-one solution these days. I live in LrC and on images from good cameras and lenses, it's all I need. I'm an old fart however, so I have hundreds of thousands of images shot on old consumer and semi pro equipment. I like to filter to old ones with high ISO ...like 1600-16000 and play with those. LrC's newer tools are a great starting point and Topaz Photo Ai does a pretty good job, but the last several updates introduce more and more artifacting, just like you have illustrated with the Owl. I have Aiarty and am trying it but for sure a lot has to be done to the images before sending to the program. If not, then a lot has to be done afterward. Aiarty does not yet integrate with LrC, so I think that eliminates it from going further than the trial period for me.
Another one I've been trying is EVOTO and it is very good but takes time to get comfortable with. On the real high ISO images it too, introduces artifacts that have to be dealt with in LrC afterward. Fortunately it does integrate with LrC and the tools available in that, make final editing pretty simple. I just get the feeling that within the next 12 months Adobe will improve LrC enough that most of the other tools won't be necessary, and of course with the Creative Cloud plan, one has Photoshop available and that extends the functionality a lot further. So ...LrC/Topaz Photo Ai is likely where I'll stay for the foreseeable future.

Very interesting; thank you! Overall, I like AIArty better, except for faces, just as you say. 😁

Airty seems to be good with feathers and topaz seems to work better with faces.

I tried Topaz a while ago, but it commits the worst sin... it makes eyes look unnatural. Eyes are very important for photos of your kids, making these tools (currently) not useful for the really important photos.

Just like you have shown, the three photos were better done by Topaz, all the rest looks much better after AIArty. Something different, Canva bought Affinity and Leonardo? Interesting what will come out of that!
