NEW POINT BASED SYSTEM 2021

Hi, my name is Nicoleta and I am an immigration adviser at Lexlegal.

- In this video I will explain how the UK Immigration System will work from 2021 and how this will affect also the EEA Nationals wishing to move here after that date.

- The New post-Brexit immigration policy will be implemented after the end of the transition period, from 1 January 2021.

- The proposed system will impact the EEA nationals which have been able to enjoy the free movement right, live work and study in the UK. I will precise that the system will not affect whose who are already in the UK and applied or are going to apply for Settlement Scheme the deadline for which is 30th June 2021. - The system will treat in fact EU and Non-EU nationals equally and will regulate all migrants which will come to the UK to work or study etc.

- Under this system only skilled immigrants will be eligible for visa. In order to be able to apply to work 70 points will be needed. Points will be assigned for specific skills, qualifications, salaries and shortage occupations.
