Laurie Anderson - Born, Never Asked

Показать описание
It was a large room. Full of people. All kinds
And they had all arrived at the same building
At more or less the same time
And they were all free. And they were all
Asking themselves the same question:
What is behind that curtain?

You were born. And so you're free. So happy birthday

In Argentina there was a tv commercial with this song in 1987, and they played it for more than 5 years and for me it is perfect until today!!! I love this song ❤️

I love when TV shows introduce us to such wonderful music we would have most likely missed in life. Evil... Such a good show. Can't wait for the next episode.

Evil brought me here but it's just so unique of a song. Its stuck in my head. I ve listened to it now 4 times. ❤

todo argentino cuarentón (sobre todo hombres), recordamos esta canción con nostalgia, cuando de niños al escucharla soñábamos con una vida adulta en plena libertad y sin rendirles cuentas a nadie.

"Asking themselves the same question:
What is behind that curtain?"

That line genuinely sent shivers up my spine the first time I heard this.

Llegue acá por Colbert Noir y veo todos argentinos cuarentones (como eu) comentando todo lo que pienso y lo mismo que sentí de chico… lloro. ❤️

Here from the Evil S3 finale, having enjoyed it immensely due in no small part this fantastic track. Stunning music.

On an album *filled with great tracks*, this one always stood out for me.
Two chords. *Lots* of acoustic (real) percussives. And an opening greeting to the live audience that puts everyone here, now. (No matter when you first heard it.)
Hypnotic, and seemingly centuries old.
I just want to say "thanks." So, Thanks !!

I forgot how exquisite this piece is. So mysterious and heartfelt at the same time.

Magical. Anticipation of what's coming. It won't be easy, but it will be magnificent ✨️ and we're ready.

Amazing, thought provoking music! Just transported me back 40 years! Timeless, as fresh today as it was back then.

Recuerdo a Laurie Anderson en su concierto en vivo. Fue " de otro plano" adelantada a su tiempo. ❤❤
