What Is a Lip Lift?
An upper lip lift is a highly customizable, minimally invasive surgical procedure that removes a very small strip of skin from under the nose. This reduces the space between the upper lip and the nose and lifts the lip slightly to expose more of the vermilion (the red part of the lip), improving the shape and overall contour in a way that looks natural.

Who Is a Good Candidate for a Lip Lift?
Even though the popularity of lip lift surgery has greatly increased in the past few years, the procedure isn’t new. Plastic surgeons have used it for years on older patients, often combined with facelift surgery, because the space between our nose and lips typically increases as we age. This gives the upper lip a thinner and less well-defined appearance.

Some individuals, though, are born with more distance between the upper lip and the nose and can benefit from the surgery at a younger age. People often wonder if a couple of millimeters between your upper lip and nose really make much difference in your overall appearance.

It can, as you can see in this video I recently posted to my Instagram page featuring one of my actual patients. The shorter distance between her lip and nose lifts the lip slightly so that her teeth are a bit more visible, and her smile is more attractive.

What Are the Benefits of Lip Lift Surgery?
One of the primary benefits of getting lip lift surgery is that it creates a permanent change instead of having to schedule maintenance injections. Because the change is permanent, it’s important to choose a highly qualified plastic surgeon who has experience performing lip lifts.

The other perks of the procedure include:
- It’s performed in the plastic surgeon’s office using a local anesthetic.
- It enhances the shape of the upper lip, rather than adding volume, so you don’t have to worry about results that look overly augmented.
- It exposes slightly more of your teeth, an appearance that is considered more youthful.

Even though the procedure involves making an incision, the scar is virtually imperceptible. Again, this is true when the surgeon is skilled and meticulously closes the incision. In the case featured on the Instagram post, the patient is shown 3 months after the procedure, and it’s essentially impossible to see a scar.

How much mm must be the lip space or it's the same for all lips?
I'm 24 and I want to do something like this but dont want to" cut" to much space cause my lipspace is 14mm
