Man if Detroit had less crime and more jobs it'll be America's favorite city easily, I was always blown away by Detroit houses, food, arts, spirit as a kid and on top of all that we have Belle Isle, I hope one day somebody makes Detroit shine again how we all know it is as Detroiters to the rest of the world

Thanks for doing a Pros list of Detroit, we never get a modern day Pros list only the cons as if we're the only city that ever had crime, great video

I spent a day in downtown Detroit a few years ago. I quite liked it. People were very friendly, and the art deco architecture was amazing.

I was recently back in Detroit about a month ago. I moved there from Toronto and hadn't been back in 30 years!!! I was extremely impressed with how Downtown Detroit has been built up! Very, very nice. The inner city part of the city is still a dump though.

Glad to see honest representation of Detroit. I’m From lansing, but we visit Detroit often. It’s so unfair how people talk about it when they’ve never been to Detroit. The town is run down in places and has high crime, but people are working so hard to make it better. If Detroit was given an honest chance, things could improve so Much.

What up doe! I also grew up in the D. I love my people, but sorry, I hate the weather. Too humid in the summer, too cold in the winter (but I do love the Fall). Always love getting some Buddy's!

Im born and raised in Detroit. I remember when it was a working and party town. What changed Detroit was the riot in 1967. Immediately after, it was flooded with drugs and with the drugs came of course, high crime, increased poverty and many other social ills. I remember. I was there through it ALL.

I love how super honest this is, I'm originally from Detroit but lived in Westland most of my life, I just recently moved to FL but am planning on moving back in a few years and actually living in the city. I definitely miss Detroit and can't wait to come back!

Grew up in the D in the 80s. I used to love Coney Island and the people. I remember faygo pop and playing arcade at the corner stores too.

Another excellent and thorough video! I can relate very well. I was born and raised in Detroit, went to another state for college, lived in NYC most of my adult life and moved back to Michigan six years ago.

In MI, I’ve only lived in and around Detroit. Ditto to everything you pointed out re: the joys and pains of residing here. Having spent significant amounts of time elsewhere, I think Metro Detroit is great place to call home.

The cost of living, for example, is excellent here vs. other areas, particularly in and near major California cities in the NYC area. For that reason, I’m planning to buy a home near Detroit and just enjoy traveling to other places.

Thanks so much for putting a well-versed and fair spotlight on Motown!

I'm from Anaheim, currently live in Dallas, and planning on moving to Detroit, so this was helpful! The Cons didn't scare me, but definitely helped me in the planning.

I just flew back from Detroit. Coming from Florida, where most people are nice to just get an in and ask for stuff..in Detroit the people are so friendly. The 1st 2 or e times I was expecting the bs to follow a friendly encounter..it never happened..also no McDonald's, burger King, etc downtown..that I saw. I could easily live downtown..walk to sports events, restaurants, etc..my wife and I have wanted to dump south Florida for the D.
