Enabling a close loved one to cheat does reflect on one's own morals. It shows that he doesn't find cheating as repulsive as she does. So she left him because she couldn't trust her anymore. If my sibling or close friend was actively cheating on their spouse I would definitely interfere, because if it happened to me, I would like to know as well. I would certainly not be playing video games and cracking jokes with them. Cheating is disgusting and should never be enabled by anyone.
