Just picked up a 2010 base black on black upgraded 2013 radio and wheels. 34k miles, always garages always covered. Ceramic coat. etc Chevy plastic still on front carpets. $20k. Tools kept throwing stupid numbers at him. I went to look at it. As the garage door went up I said ok. Here’s your money. It’s amazing. Service every 1500 miles.

I’ve had a C6 base and Grand Sport convertibles and currently have an 08 ZO6. Love em all. Really liking the LS7 manual combo. My wife has a C7 ZO6 auto. Any Corvette is fun and I love Em all. Like motorcycles! Just drive(ride) em! Have a great ride!

I was cross shopping 996 911’s as well when I got mine. In the end more money for something with less power and more fragile sent me to the Vette route. I always wanted a 911, but the Vette made more financial sense

I think the Grand Sport is the bang for the buck sweet spot. I love my 2011 GS manual.

I have had 3 c6 corvettes. 1 base model and 2 z06s. Both my z06s were more fun to drive stock and modded. A modded z06 is one of the most fun car you can drive. I daily drove my last modded z06 and did long road trips with it. It really was not a stiff driving car compared to my base model. I sold my c7 to go back to a c6 z06 and will be doing hci to it next month.

Love my C6. No matter which one you get dump the "run flat" tires! It's like driving on solid rubber tires and they ride so much better without them!

All very good points, I have been on the fence on buying a base coupe vs a Grand Sport. Your video just helped sway my decision to the base coupe which was the direction I was headed anyway for all the reasons you listed. Thanks for the great video.

Good points! I prefer the widebody look of the C6 gen, that’s why I love my ‘07 C6Z, but it’s a weekend only car with less than 7k miles. For a daily I’d go Grand Sport just for the reliability/look combo.

Sounds like you got your Corvette right about the same time I got mine. Like you, I really don't care what other people think of my car. I got it for me. The targa top, auto transmission, and coupe were top features for me. The open air experience can’t be beat. I’m too old to like shifting gears. I understand why others like it, but I want to hold my drink while I take off from a street light 🙂 And the coupe lets me toss my coat in the area behind me. I got the Grand Sport purely for vanity. I wanted the wider body and fat tires. When I have to replace those tires, you know it’ll make me wince. 😂 Thanks for another enjoyable video.

Great choice. I'd love to get an 08-13 C6 base (LS3) auto. I'm leaning toward the convertible but would also consider the coupé. I drove manuals for years but there's too much traffic now.

I once got to drive an 06 Z06. Amazing car but it's so fast that I was constantly standing on the brakes for fear of losing my license. 400-436 hp is plenty fast and you can enjoy accelerating longer without having to slow down so often. To me, that actually makes the base Vette more fun to drive and own than the Z06 and ZR1.

I also don't want a Grand Sport because the wider body would make it a tighter fit in my garage. Also, I'll never reach the cornering limits of the base car, let alone those of the wide body GS. Enjoy your great Vette.

PS The C6 is 100 times better to drive and 1000 times better engineered and easier to live with than the 98 Viper I got to drive. That Dodge Viper was such a disappointment!

I’ve owned both and currently own a 08 fire breathing break neck fast Z that lives on cobras Camaros and hell kittens.The C6 Z is the superior car hands down and only takes a backseat to the ZR1.

I have 2008 Jetstream Blue LT3 base and love it, would have loved to had a newer vette, a GS or ZR1, but feel lucky to have my 2008 and it fit my budget. It’s still great fun and a huge improvement over a 78 C3 I had.

Enjoying your channel. I have a C5 base automatic which is my first 'Vette, and I really enjoy driving it. But now that I've cut my teeth on it, looking for an LS3 C6 to upgrade to. That will probably be my 2nd and final Corvette as I launch into retirement. I like the C6 looks better than a C7, although I like all 'vettes from the C5
