The fact that you sound like you constantly have a smile ear to ear is really funny and made the video all the more enjoyable

Alec, you want to know what I think? Having been smithing for around 14yrs, I think this is the absolute best explanation of forging tapers I ever viewed. Just enough yak yak to get the point across. I will personally recommend your videos to anyone wanting to learn. I don't posses the ability to convey my thoughts into words as you do. Excellent video little brother

I just started with a blacksmithing class, first project was to forge a hook, starting with a long taper. I had enough time to try several tapers, and having watched this video helped a ton. Thanks Alec!

It's obvious that you're thinking about all this stuff while you work, and hearing you explain it in real time is awesome. It helps that you have a great speaking/teaching voice, very great tutorial!

I think you are a great teacher. Clear, articulate and 1uite knowledgeable. I look forward to this class once I'm comfortable with the skills from the beginner course. Please keep up the great work.

This was the most instructional video I’ve ever seen. Thanks for putting this out for the world to use.

I tried to add your name to the Wikipedia list of current names associated with Norwich but failed. Perhaps someone else could. Alec is a great example of finding a passion early and pouring yourself into it. Too many kids shun the trades thinking they're all going to be rockstars or million dollar athletes but never live their dreams and be content in life. Look for what God gave you the talent and passion for then do it.
Alec is a rather infectious chap you just enjoy and get a good feeling from his positive vibes. He's also legit because he's constantly laughing at himself when he makes mistakes. Very humble. Keep up the great work young man and thanks for sharing this YT channel, which, btw, is very well produced and shot.

Mr. Steele, this presentation is just SO clear and easy to understand! Your explanations make perfect sense, and having the video component to help explain things makes it possible for even the most rank beginner to understand what you're doing, and why.
Thank you most sincerely for a wonderful video!

this video was so easy to watch, almost no effort to learn, and without music or crazy effort in editing. i was thinking you have a talent in making educational and entertaining videos, but now i am sure. already having a goal to save money so i can visit you for any seminar you will be doing at the time (hopefully spring), and i can't wait to meet you and exercise some blacksmithing at last. Have a good night Alec.

I would love another video about these blacksmithing techniques. I have been a blacksmith for about four years, and I have never moved steel as efficiently, confidently and accurately as I have in the last 7 months while following your work! Thank you for teaching me true blacksmithing!
