Medieval music on a hurdy-gurdy!

For the past couple of months I’ve been playing around with and trying to figure out this interesting instrument—a hurdy gurdy! Here is a selection of snippets of some medieval songs I’ve learned to play on it.

Beware: this instrument sounds like a cross between a bagpipe and a violin... and I’m a beginner just playing by ear... yeah it’s gonna sound rough lol

It’s a very fun folk instrument to play, and it was popular in Europe from the 11th century up until the 18th and 19th centuries. It operates with a crank turning a wheel beneath the strings (like a violin bow does) and it has 24 chromatic keys which you push against the two melody strings to make different notes. It has two drone strings as well, giving it that constant hum.

I was actually wondering whether you played any instruments, why doesn't this surprise me? xD
Nevertheless, i was for a brief period very interested in getting one, where did you buy yours? Did you make it yourself? If not, what did you pay for it?
