Why Use EXTREMELY HEAVY Tennis Racquet Anyway?

My quick thoughts on heavy racquets. It's a good training tool, especially for muscles memory and footwork. Useful tool for indirect training. It's also a great weapon if on the right hand (like Hsieh Su-Wei 謝淑薇).

Or I just want to have fun ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

By the way, that racquet is Yonex V Core Duel G 330gr, extended to 29 inches.

Haha agree. A 370gm prestige taught me footwork and better swing and core rotation without eveb thinking about it. Keep up the vids

Same I still use my old head calibre at 370g strung. That teach you smouth stroking and you avoid all parasite mouvements you see on all young player.

Come on people, I know most of you guys are expert tennis players and would love to contribute your two cents of advice, but please read properly and try to understand the main focal point in this video of using a heavier racquet is for training purpose. Beside, there are many specially made training tennis racquets out in the market place that come with different weights and head sizes to cater for individual needs. Please keep up the good work Kimi and your video uploads/efforts are always appreciated.👌👍

Just get a good lightest wooden racquet like the maxply mcenroe or the snauwert. They are about 370 to 400 grams strung and about 4 - 6 pts headlight. These will force you to hit the ball solidly rather than forcefully hard. Will smoothen the strokes and strengthen the basics.

This seems like a really good way to improve?

If this racket is anything less than 12 points headlight, it can inflict serious damage to your arm. Be careful. I used s 366 gram Wilson ktour 90. It was 10 points headlight but still i was sloppy with my one handed backhand. I tried to force myself on the backhand and it resulted in 1 week of pain. I eventually got used to the racket but it could have hurt me permanently. So your method seems only for good players who are regularly hitting the court.

Your shoulder does not complain? Be careful and always warm up your shoulder.

Only for very aware players, otherwise you can hurt your arm and shoulder. You must have good technique already

Absolutely everything I read for your reason "why" you're using this weight, I could give your multiple, factual examples of why you shouldn't.
