Future-proofing EU driving licences for younger and older drivers

🚦 Green light for young EU drivers!!

🚗 Thanks to EPP Group efforts, new guidelines for the driving licence pave the way for enhanced opportunities. This means more flexibility on our roads, reflecting EU citizens' needs.

🛑 Against the Greens' unreasonable proposals, we successfully pushed for accompanied driving for 17-year-olds. This is crucial for tackling the European driver shortage and provides young people with valuable driving experience with an adult.

With the ageing population in Europe, we also call for check-ups based on drivers' fitness - not age. Testing methods should be left to the Member States; there is no one-size-fits-all solution at the EU level.
