Dec 2020. Yeah, 2020 sucks! Anyway, nice video. A little speedy on demonstrating the connections, however. I told my wife I wanted a Viair 400-P for Christmas. Got it! But should have asked for the 400-P RV, it has 2 30' air hoses. No biggy since my RV is only 30'. From the battery to the back tires, oh, maybe 24' so that works just fine. Happy Traveling.

I just purchased the Viair 450 P RV compressor. I tried the compressors that you could use with the cigarette lighter to the pancake compressor. The 450P was the only one that fit my lifestyle. As a solo woman RVer, I needed something that I could count on and the was light weight. I would recommend the Viair compressors to anyone. Worth every dime. Thanks for the review!

I went with 450 for the 100% duty cycle. The slower rate wasn't an issue for me. I connected an Anderson SB50 to the battery and the same to the compressor for a secure quick connect option. I thought about a permanently mounted unit but figured it wouldn't last long with Idaho's dry, dusty dirt roads, and temperature extremes. I love the portability factor. So far, it's working great for tires and truck air bags.

It works faster if you idle the vehicle due to higher voltage. What is the duty cycle and air flow?

Thank you very helpful video. I just purchased one today. My question is does your motor have to be running if you're hooking up to my car, RV class C, or pick up truck battery.
Also, if you're hooked up to shore power, can you use it with your house batteries without using the generator or running engine?

Hello new friend! I have a viar, I didn't go for the RV model and I really wish I shouldn't have cheaped out. I'm just not happy with it because on my model you have to turn the compressor off to check the pressure instead of having the gun type inflator like this version.

I'm going to say one crazy thing. For those of us girl-folk, I really really need to see you EXACTLY CONNECT (slowly, please!) all the pieces together. I have figured out how to connect the rubberized cable end to the compressor, but I am unclear how to connect the 45 degree angle to the gun. I was able to connect the regulator/gun to the rubber (likely a bike tire hose), but can't seem to figure out how to get the dually air thing connected. And I don't know what the little extra valve thingie is that is zip tied to the 45 degree long reach thing. Sorry, don't have all the correct terminology, but many times, these things are assumed that there is a level of skill that is 'elementary' that -- well, isn't always the case.

The only compressors i’ve ever heard of exploding were those with pressurized tank storage, and all were very old and not properly maintained. Perhaps Brian is recalling a different type of compressor system. To me the Viair seems more of a direct pump injection system, with no storage tank to gather condensation and rust. Thanks for your review of the viair 400.

Great and informative video, I have been looking and doing a search on this one I made a mistake on getting one from HF and as I was using it the hose blew a hole in it so I went back to HF and they really couldn't help me. I have a 37' 5th Wheel and I like being prepare if something would to happen on a long trip and going to the gas station would be hard to try to get to the pump and having to pay for air and it just don't have the power to do the job, but anyway I will probably buy one soon.
