Description:

Michael Gerard "Mike" Tyson (Майк Тайсон) is an American former professional boxer. He held the undisputed world heavyweight championship and holds the record as the youngest boxer to win the WBC, WBA and IBF heavyweight titles at 20 years, 4 months, and 22 days old. Tyson won his first 19 professional bouts by knockout, 12 of them in the first round. He won the WBC title in 1986 after defeating Trevor Berbick by a TKO in the second round. In 1987, Tyson added the WBA and IBF titles after defeating James Smith and Tony Tucker. This made him the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hold the WBA, WBC and IBF titles, and the only heavyweight to successively unify them. He retired as an undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, and his career has been greatly compared to Muhammad Ali's. Mike Tyson knocks out Sammy Scaff in the first round of their bout on December 6th, 1985.

Mike Tyson is widely know for his best fights vs: buster douglas, ip man, muhammad ali, peter mcneeley, evander holyfield, lennox lewis, larry holmes, michael spinks, trevor berbick, donnie yen

Was involved in a street fight with former opponent Mitchell Green in 1988.

Bit off a chunk of Evander Holyfield's ear during a heavyweight title bout.

In 1991 Desiree Washington, a Miss Black America contestant, charged that Tyson raped her in an Indianapolis hotel room. He was arrested, tried, convicted and served three years in prison.

Wife Monica Turner filed for divorce. [January 2002]

Titles: 1986: WBC Heavyweight Title 1987: WBA Heavyweight Title 1987: IBF Heavyweight Title 1987: Undisputed World Heavyweight Champion 1996: WBC Heavyweight Title 1996: WBA Heavyweight Title

Was adopted by Cus D'Amato, boxing genius and trainer of such fighters as Floyd Patterson.

Not long after his release from prison, he was ready for a massive return. It was the most anticipated comeback in generations. In August of 1995, he beat Peter McNeeley in a matter of seconds - 89, to be exact.

He was fined $3 million, and was banned from boxing for one year for biting Evander Holyfield's ear during a bout.

In 2000 he fought three times. His third, against Andrzej Golota, was first a victory, but changed to no-contest after Tyson failed a drug test. The next year he fought only once, knocking out Brian Nielsen in the seventh round.

On 11 June 2005, he lost a non-title fight against Kevin McBride. Tyson, who was favored to win the match, did not leave his corner after the end of the sixth round, and McBride was proclaimed the winner.

Proposed fights with World Wrestling champion Hulk Hogan and Mixed Martial Art's Champ Royce Gracie never materialized.

He was knocked out by James 'Buster' Douglas, Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis and Williams. Kevin Mcbride scored a TKO over Tyson after Tyson quit on his stool at the start of round 6.

The Simpsons (1989) boxer character "Drederick Tatum" was based on him and Riddick Bowe.

He was the youngest heavyweight champion of the world at twenty years old, a record he still holds.

People automatically assume Tyson is agressive and dangerous because of how the media portrays him but he is actually a really kind caring guy

I advise everyone to read his read every

I didn't read Mike Tyson's book because I saw him as an inspiring person. I read his book because I wanted learn the philosophy about fighting that was instilled into Tyson by his guardian/ trainer Cus D'amato. I wasn't disappointed.

However, in the end of the book, I finally saw the true colors of Mike Tyson. There is much more to him than reaches the eye. He is definitely an inspiration to me now.

Mike is the modern day philosopher and thinker. He has seen the highest of highs and lowest of lows. The words that come out of his mouth are diamonds. We must cherish this man as long as he is alive.

The picture from when he was 14 tells you everything what Mike was, the greatest genetics for fighting (looking like a tank at 14 yo) and with a great mentor/father figure who he loved, sadly he passed away when Mike was only 19 and that probably destroyed part of Mike's career, if he had lived 10 more years Mike would have been even a better fighter and his career would've been legendary
