The impact of Long Covid on key workers

This an APPG on Coronavirus public evidence session to examine the impact of long Covid on key workers. It will also look at the protections of employees, and consider whether long Covid should be treated as a disability under the Equality Act 2010.

18 months on alot of key workers have already lost their jobs with no financial help..

I had to retire from my job.. it was not the plan at all! However, I had reached the age when I could. Long Covid is vile and initially I felt so very diminished. It was so difficult to access any support including medical support. Yes, I finally managed to have 'tests' which confirmed part collapsed lungs and emphysema... but no help with the fatigue, with the memory deficit. Finally, I went to see a Combined Chinese Medicine practitioner who confirmed generalised inflammation. Her input has been incredibly positive, particularly in getting me to feel positive and to accept that yes, I am a different person but a person nonetheless. I am evidently lucky to have been in a position to afford this treatment...
