Welcome back to Raineb. For today's video, we'll be talking about Carrie Bradshaw’s toxic pick-me behavior and what we can learn from it.

“They will do anything to be chosen—sometimes at the expense of their own friends or identity. Carrie Bradshaw happens to fit this mold perfectly. Carrie exemplifies the “pick-me” girl trope by centering her identity around male approval and validation. She’s an independent, working woman, who writes her own column, but her column—and her life—revolve heavily around men. Her quest for male validation is evident in her fixation on Big, a man who refuses to commit to her and leaves her emotionally exhausted. But she sticks around, seeking his approval over and over, in what seems like a desperate attempt to be the one he chooses to have in his life”

It’s called codependency. Also you are looking at Carrie from the perspective of your current generation without understanding the context of GenX women and what life was like for them in this time period.
