NEW TRUCK! Cross RC GC4 Unboxing | 1/10 Russian Gaz 66

I got a new Cross kit! It's one of the smaller trucks they do, but an absolute classic that should be right at home in the Welsh mud...

I ordered it from the UK importer and it arrived the very next day - how good is that?! As I write this I've already started building it, but that'll have to wait for a progress update. Here I'll show you what's in the box.

Hi Steve - love your unboxings mate, don't ever change! And boy, you took tyre sniffing to the next level, connoisseur sniffing! 🤣That's gonna take some beating. The new truck looks fantastic, great choice. Now you just have to get another Cross rig to totally outdo A n T!!! Oh, as for the colour, please don't do green. I think non-military will be a nice change. I reckon a proper orange would look cool. The box art looks like a deep tangerine colour, a lighter shade would suit it, methinks! Anyway, whatever you do, it'll be great. Take care, all the best as always. 😁👊👍

Out of my Cross Rc my favourite to build, it goes together well. The pop off roof very good to get inside if you need to.

I agree with Tez, If you're going red maybe go for a grey primer then red on top so that the primer can show through maybe with the salt technique or hairspray method? That gearbox is the same as the Mammoth, just pack it full of grease to reduce the sound. Interesting smell testing on the give it a go. Saw Tez's Mammoth on ebay a while times indeed are upon us. (

The kit looks lovely. Very impressive. It will be a great build.

I was surprised how noisy the HC6 was. The MC6 has metal gears and is very quiet but it does have the hobbywing motor in it. That said the mammoth was terribly noisy. Have you tried using a different motor?

Great unboxing. Army colours do look good. But if I had to change the colour I did think dark red maroon, with rust looked good. All the best from a fellow tyre sniffer..😁

Looking forward to your build mate, if you go with Red or a civilian colour as long as you weather it I think it would be cool. The restoration fresh paint would look nice but would maybe look out of place in your beautiful run videos.

congrats on new kit, I am on fence on the fc6. I want to do another hydraulic dump truck conversion and that one would be my choice of rigs. The tc6 is got to many things going on in in-between the chassis rails to allow room for a hydraulic lift system. I could be wrong yet of what I can see on videos looks to be the case.

If you do decide to bow to popular opinion and paint it some garish colour, I confess that I do hope we'll see some weathering and rust on it.
Still, in the end, it's your truck, and I'll happily watch it go whatever colour you paint it!
No, the box art one doesn't look orange on my screen. It looks red. As red as the face of a man who has more Cross trucks than his mates.
