China's Message to European Union: Scrap EV Tariffs By July 4 | Vantage on Firstpost

The European Union's proposal to slap high tariffs on Chinese Electric Vehicles (EVs) has led to tensions with China. Brussels and Beijing are now set to hold talks to discuss their trade differences. But China wants the EU to scrap the tariffs by 4th July. Brussels argues that a flood of cheaper Chinese EVs is harming European carmakers. In response, they proposed tariffs as high as 38% on Chinese EVs. However, this move has created friction within the EU. Germany, a major car exporter to China itself, is against the proposed tariffs. German car giants like Volkswagen, Daimler, and BMW fear retaliation from China in the form of counter-tariffs, hurting their lucrative Chinese market. China is playing on these divisions. They've offered incentives like reduced tariffs for German carmakers in exchange for supporting the blockage of the EV tariffs. Meanwhile, China has launched investigations into French brandy and European pork, key exports from those countries, as a way to pressure the entire EU. The situation has become increasingly tense. Couple of tips though:
1. Mic quality is poor. Sound is too peaky and high pitched. A better mic will help immensely.
2. Colors on the cam are far too yellow for her face. Looks almost fake. Color correction is necessary. This is poor production quality. Do better! Look at the color contrast between Alyson's face with high yellow colors and the blue background. Embarrassing production quality. Viewer's can tell. And it detracts from the reporting. First Post with remote hosts will fail. Production quality must improve for it to succeed.
3. Overall, Alyson lacks the gravitas of voice and the severity that Palki brings to such serious topics. Alyson is certainly capable of this, and a small change can correct for this quickly. A better mic may help significantly by itself, for all we know.

China is an economic super power and is EU's largest trader partner. EU wanted to follow US strategy to limit China's rise. With China opened its market widely to EU, it is easy for China to slap duties on EU agricultural products to counter the EU's tariff penalization using the overproduction as a pretext.
