N.B. Always seek the advice of a bush tucker expert before eating any sandalwood or quandong fruits and nuts. That goes for planting them in the right garden locations, too, with the correct host shrubs and trees. (Quandong roots are able to reach out 10 m to other root systems.)

Hmm. Mindful Foods of Byron Bay website online bush tucker are selling 2.4kg of dried Quandongs for $599.95 a jar. That seems rather expensive. At these prices it won't be long before the penny drops and South African Macadamia plantation owners start growing Aussie bush tucker Quandongs as well. There are zillions of Australian Port Jackson Willow (Acacia saligna) growing in South Africa as a weed. Just a matter of planting a Quandong seed beside each one. Hmm. I don't know if Macadamia trees would act as a good host for Quandong trees. They may well do. Macadamias and Quandong trees are both bush tucker native to Australia. Quandong seeds germinate well after being given the fynbos heat and smoke treatment, and grow well with Acacia as host trees....

Fascinating, it never occurred to me that some plants might absorb poisons from other plants they grow close to 😱😱

Fascinating Thank You, the fungal network I presume transfers these toxic qualities between the trees, nature is no fool .🙂

The frogs are noisy today! I'm just getting over a bad cold. Every time I go abroad I seem to bring something back with me 🤧What would be your best remedy? I'm having these ginger shots from the local store at the moment. They have lime juice in too. It's funny because I've not had a cold for about three years, so I guess I was due one!

Given how many toxic plants you seem to have on your land, I'm not sure you'll be eating any of those quandongs at all 😂😂
