What is the Best Way to Extinguish a Drone Battery Fire?

Hey, why not start w/less toxic solution. Large beach towel, smother the o2. Sadly I have done this a few times, mostly charging. It works great. Extinguisher as back up.

There are very expensive extinguishers for class-D (flammable metals) fires. Would those be better for a lithium fire? They cost about 10x the price of a Purple-K extinguisher.

There has to be other options than Purple K, especially if you don’t have one. A little more research would be appreciated. Can you smother it for example? Thanks

Purple-K works on magnesium fires too. if you add water to a fire and it acts VIOLENT then you need purple-k to put it out. Yes, its purple in color.

funny enough, I’m having a fast raising temperature issue in my mavic pro 1, when I turn it on, the battery temp goes bananas raising 1 degree Celcius every 10 seconds. Doesn’t matter if it’s motors on or not. The fan is working, although it might be somewhat clogged and running at lower rpm. Any other ideas of what could be causing the temps to rise? it won’t stabilize at 30+ degrees celcius but keeps on the rise, I I have to turn it off so it doesn’t go above 45 degrees celcius which is equal to battery inflating and getting ready to burst.
