Jose Maria Barrera is a software engineer and application architect specializing in data representation and languages. He has been fascinated by alchemy and Egyptian culture for more than 20 years. An avid photographer, his work has been exhibited in galleries in Chicago and New York City and sold in Sotheby’s Auctions. Born in Colombia, he holds a master’s degree in computer science. In lives in New York City.

Thank you, Heather, and what a treat on a Sunday afternoon in here Sydney being able to hear Jose Barrera speaking about his new book. Found out about the book earlier this year after visiting Dendera temple of Hathor two times during a three month stay in Egypt. Yes, this also is a favourite temple.

This book is on my do by buy booklist. Looking forward to experiencing Jose’s intricate weaving of his carefully researched perspective into beautifully presented visual representations and written accounts, on a temple I have feel moved by.

Thank you, Jose for creating such a book at this particular moment in time. May this inspire a series of digital artworks that are about to be birthed later this year.

Dendera is my favorite temple in Egypt. I lived in Egypt in the 1990’s. I was always amazed that for a vast desert with (then) 60 million people, everyone got fed. Every poor person which is most of them, got fed.. the blessings of the Nile and of course the palpable energy. 🙏🏻🇪🇬🙏🏻

What an amazing ceiling! Thank you to Joe Barrera and Heather Ensworth for bringing this to our attention! I love how everything the Egyptians did had meaning and symbolism. Heather said something about the Age of Leo, 12, 000 years ago. I have always wondered about the Sphinx and if there is another statue. It makes sense if it is a lion statue. Lions, age of Leo, are animals that live in a pride and Leos would never want to be alone. And all lion statues that I have seen personally, have another statue either facing or side by side. I am curious what Heather thinks about this. Blessings!

Wow, that was so interesting. The wisdom of the Egyptians is incredibly complex to simplicity. Thank you Jose and Heather for the interpretation, which is interesting to see. And how we can relate to lifes purpose to the interconnectedness in becoming identicle with nature. I wondered about the constellation format and did Virgo get missed between Libra and Leo or is Virgo shown as the one giving birth to the Moon and swallowing the Sun? I am going to watch this video again. Gratitude!
